We got beach property approx 10kms west of Dunnville.....south of Lakeshore Rd, east of Haldeman-Dunnville Townline Rd.

Hoping to build a new house there late summer and retire!

 

Excellent! I've looked at the same area, prices are relatively good compared to other lakefront in the province.......

It's almost to the point where it doesn't really matter how he does in Lansing. I'm way more interested in how he and Bo fare against better pitching.

I don't know if there's a detailed scouting report out to the public.

I've never read anything bad about his defense. I've also never read anything particularly glowing. He's probably average-ish. There doesn't seem to be any concern that he can't catch.

I would assume that the author has talked to people (scouts, org people) about Jansen but you never know.

I could understand it if he was in Dunedin and they wanted him working closely with the guys stationed down there...but it's Lansing. Regardless I want him down there long enough for when I get free time and can get to a Lansing game.

I just think if a teenager is mashing that league to this extent for 1/3 of a season, he needs a new challenge. Let him take his cuts in the FSL and maybe get his first taste of failure in an extremely pitcher-friendly league.

Although TBH, they could probably skip him right to AA. They won't, but they could. He's a prodigy.

He has a Minor League blogger Facebook group which I am part of. He at least claims to speak to people in the org every time he takes a trip. He has on-field access for the Lansing home games so I assume his connection to the org is through Lansing. He seems to be much more old school though and tends not to write negative things ever.

It also might be his defense I suppose. Lansing is a nicer infield. The Cubs try to keep their best prospects together, I suppose that is a possibility as well. Maybe after all the Rehab assignments are done in Florida we'll see a jump.

Because catchers don’t move gracefully down the defensive spectrum, but rather tend to plummet all the way to first base, I’ve become progressively more cautious about including them here unless their defensive reputations are beyond reproach.

 

Eric Longenhagen’s assessment of Jansen’s catching skills — or, perhaps, the assessment that he’s relayed from scouts — suggests to me that Jansen’s defense might merit a little bit of reproach.

 

I agree, though, that the offensive skills are promising, and I’m constantly willing to consider new information.

Do you not think they want him to get used to playing in a cool spring environment? Yes we have the dome. Baltimore, NY and Boston certainly don't. My guess is he hasn't played many games in his life at 5-10 degrees celsius.
