I'm a 10 minute walk away closer to Kalar. Small world.... we should get together sometime maybe see the Bisons if Vladdy and Bichette spend time there

I usually get to a few Bison's games a year..will message you when we're going. Vlady and Bichette won't be here for a couple of years, hence the trip to Lake Country ( Cleveland ) before they're called up to Dunedin....just a little closer than going to Lansing.

Bichette 2-3 with a double

Vlad Jr 2-2 with a walk

The insanity continues.

Promote both. They are litterally kicking the s*** out of the league.

I hope not until June.

What does everyone think of Fernando Tatis Jr.? He started off terrible but he's been extremely hot as of late. I bring him up because he's another really young guy doing well in A ball, granted he's not doing as well as Vlad or Bichette.

His 30% k-rate and inflated babip doesn't really scream immenant promotion. Throw in his age and I would expect to see him in high A all season.

Stud, incoming. ;)

78. Fernando Tatis, Jr., 3B, San Diego Padres Video

Signed: July 2nd Period, 2015 from Dominican Republic

Age 18 Height 6’3 Weight 185 Bat/Throw R/R

Tool Grades (Present/Future)

Hit Raw Power Game Power Run Fielding Throw

30/50 50/60 30/50 45/40 45/60 60/70

Scouting Summary

Tatis looked good during extended spring training (before he was traded) and then continued to improve throughout the summer, showing impressive infield actions, arm strength and burgeoning raw power. He’s likely to move off of short and over to third, but he could be a black hole there while hitting a bunch of homers.

Relevant/Interesting Metrics

Had .182 ISO and 26.5% strikeout in 50-PA taste of Northwest League at age 17.

Scouting Report

The primary return from Chicago in exchange for James Shields early this season, Tatis was already an intriguing prospect late in the spring but continued to improve as the summer went on and now looks like a potential star. He has shortstop actions and a future 70 arm, but he’ll almost certainly need to move to third base eventually as his large frame fills in and he slows down. The combination of the arm, athleticism, hands and actions could lead to plus-plus defense at third base, though, and with more mass will come more power. Tatis has good bat speed and some natural leverage in his swing and could have plus raw power at maturity. He may never tap into it, though. The swing is noisy, with lots of independently moving parts and Tatis’ contact issues are exacerbated by the length of his limbs and his propensity to be way out in front of offspeed stuff. I have a future 50 on the bat, which is pretty aggressive considering where Tatis is at right now, but he’s still just 17 and has done nothing but exceed the expectations placed upon him as an amateur since arriving. If all the tools actualize, he’s a star. Of course, at just 17 and with hefty swing-and-miss issues, he’s also quite a risk.

More BP chat stuff:

TrickDaddy14 (Bronx, NY): Please rank in order of highest fantasy upside: Kyle Tucker, Vlad Guerrero, Rafael Devers, Juan Soto (this is my order)... Thank you!

Wilson Karaman: Strictly ceiling, no regard for proximity/risk/etc.? Vladito, Devers, Tucker, Soto for me

---

Seth (NYC): For purely fantasy - Carter Kieboom or Bo Bichette?

Wilson Karaman: I'll take Bichette because I'm a sucker for violent swings with violent results. I like Kieboom a lot too though, wrote optimistic things about him pre-season. He just sustained what sounds like a fairly significant hamstring injury, unfortunately, which'll likely knock him out for a while. Bummer given the early groove.

Hoping to build a new house there late summer and retire!

Bo Bichette (SS)—Blue Jays

Is hitting .360/.439/.566 with an 11.6 BB% through 155 PA as a 19-year-old in Low A good? Because it seems good. Bichette has gone full Scorched Earth on the competition at Lansing so far—hitting, hitting for some power and showing an awfully selective approach at the plate. Scouts have never doubted Bichette’s bat speed or power potential, but there’s always been a boom-or-bust element to his profile that’s led to some tempered enthusiasm. Six strong weeks in Low A don’t make those concerns disappear, but it’d be hard to ask anything more of Bichette right now, and he’s certainly on pace to rank as a top-101 dynasty guy by midseason.

ROFL... I grew up in Dunnville! Can't believe anyone has heard of it! My sister still lives there. Enjoy the immense boredom ;)

Danny Jansen's first week in AA has gone okay...

.429 / .500 / .619 with 2 walks, 2 Ks. 9 for 21 with 4 doubles.

He's for real

Did King address why he quit doing minor league recaps? They were the best threads on the board. I had no idea Jansen was ripping up AA and that's unacceptable. Like f*** I'm actually going to go look through 4 or 5 box scores on my own! Edited by Brownie19

Bichette: 3 for 3, 2 2B, HBP.

All three hits were line drives.

Bichette and Vlad show no signs of slowing down and continue to tear up the league.

At this point, when does it start to become detrimental to not have them challenged more a level higher? Promotions in mid-late June?

He's more than just a catching prospect - he's Super Tek Jansen!

Wasn't there some crazy name for Jansen in a legit prospect write up last year?

Presumably, he just got busy. I'm not aware that he gave a formal reason or anything like that.

Here is the best website for quickly checking all the farm box scores:

You can even make a custom list of players and save the URL for the list. I use this to follow my dynasty league prospects daily.

Thanks for this link. I'll post these box scores in a thread for people who want to keep track of the farm until King gets back to doing the recaps.
