It looks dangerous. I would have to see the finished product. It just looks like it could have some problems.

Well of course it looks dangerous in its current state, the rest of the field is a block of concrete, that's why we have turf. I trust that these people know what they're doing.

I take it you have done this a lot lol

Concrete yes. Anything to do with this no lol. Concrete and Baseball fields usually don't mix. Its an unusual set up and will be interesting to see how it works

I hope so lol.

It looks like a kid's sandbox at the moment.

So if they stopped now, we'd have issues going into the season.

Good thing they plan to continue the upgrade until complete.

Whew.

Donaldson had an interesting comment saying if it plays like Tampa he will hate it. I just really hope it isn't a toll on player's bodies and the bounces aren't ridiculous.

Link? Because it probably will be very similar to Tampa's

Are you asking because you don't know or because you think Jonn doesn't know? If it's the prior I'll explain.

worst job I ever worked on was doing Rebar mid winter where it was -10F. worked less than 10 minutes before coming back in to heat up for at least 30 minutes. can't wear gloves tying the Rebar and it almost burns your fingers to hold. HATED THAT JOB!! It paid well but it really gave me incentive to get a better job.

Thanks for this post G-Snarls.

I was somewhat puzzled as to why they required forms and were required to pour concrete. This older "Stephen R Brooks" tweet, prior to the tweet that G-snarls posted explains why: (to make the cut-out dimensions accurate)

Lets hope this science project doesn't end the ultimate dream of Grass at our "Baseball Stadium".

God that looks so dangerous.

I don't know why you keep saying it looks dangerous. Finished product won't have any sharp edges obviously. The dirt will be flush with the turf

That looks how I think anyone thought it would look. You're going to have 3+ inches of turf underneath the clay so that someone doesn't catch it and pull it off the concrete corners.

It's always been a pipe dream. It's a project Beeston started that will likely never get finished, the cost that was associated with it kept ballooning on them and from the short remarks that Shipiro has talked about he didn't sound very optimistic.
