A poster on the Urban Toronto boards posted his photoshop of the stadium with a few improvements.

While I don't think the red brick works, I do like the green seats and wall, although I really can't see them changing them to a different colour.

So the turf wasn't a problem before the strike but 21 years later its now the only reason you won't go to a game?

I was in my teens the last time I saw a game so the playing surface was less important to me at the time. But it's been the sole reason for my not attending a game for some time now.

That's a really trivial reason to deprive yourself of good times and enjoying your life more thoroughly with more Blue Jays.

That's funny... I actually just signed up to post my picture and bam there it is. I've been following this site for awhile now and wanted to do a remake of an image with green seats for a long time. I figured with all the talk of renovations and with Mark Shapiro coming on board, now is a great time to add my 2 cents. A few people aren't loving the red brick, but I would like to atleast see a little nostalgia added to this sterile building.

Hope you don't mind me posting it. Also, I was one of those "few people" over at Urban Toronto. :)

No not at all. The more I look at the red brick, the more I tend to agree with you... still love those green seats through.

Is the dirt infield a sure thing next season? Or are they just looking at it? it will be nice having a dirt infield next season.

Not a sure thing but they are looking at it, and to me it's a no brainer with no Argos, especially with a fragile but excellent shortstop playing on the infield for the next 5 years at a not insignificant $94m

Where do you draw the line at too cold, too hot or the dome being open for an enjoyable experience?

Like how can Canadians sit in sub zero temps for Winter Classic Hockey games and make it known they love being in the bitter cold to watch it. And a couple months later, but not nearly as cold as the Winter Classic temps they're screaming at Guest Service people because it's chilly out?

If it's too hot you move your way around the park as to not be sitting in the sun and let some other muppets take it.

Hockey fans are also like interrupting the game so 2 goons can go fight each other. Also - here's hoping that moving forward, I can't just "move to another seat" when it's too hot out because the place is jammed!

Considering that a dirt infield has not upkeep I guess we'll see it next season.

Hello, all. I'm a Red Sox fan who is definitely pulling for the Jays in the East, but I also love going to ballparks. I've been to 30 (I still have five to see because five I've been to are no longer in use), so I registered to share my two cents on the park, which I went to twice when it was still SkyDome and generally enjoyed.

I think the Jays should keep the blue. Almost everyone else is green. Keep your identity. The color of the fences just seems a little different (lighter) than the color of the uniforms. I think the Blue on the unis really pops, and the fences should be made a little darker blue to match the jerseys.

But to me the biggest area to improve (besides going to grass, obviously), is the outfield. It's so boring. The walls are so high you may have one time a year when an outfielder robs someone of a homer, and then the balls just drop into a hole. I don't know if it was designed that way for football use, or storage or whatever, but when the Argos leave, the Jays have a real opportunity.

Maybe put in double-decker pens, like in Baltimore. Say those are in right-center, you can have seats behind the fences down the right-field line, and then seats behind the fences in all of left and left-center. Put slightly lower fences there, so outfielder can steal homers, and have seats there so fans can catch them. I think that would add a LOT of character.

Anyway, I'll leave you back to your team. Please hold off the Yankees! :-)

^^^ I like this guy ^^^

I'm going to visit my family in Manchester, New Hampshire next week and we're going to go see a Sox game at Fenway. Tampa or Baltimore.. so I can legitimately cheer for the Red Sox. I've only ever been to one ball game at the Dome ~8 years ago.. so I can't wait! Super excited.

I don't mind blue, just not crazy about that particular shade of blue. Also, appreciate the support..it's an exciting and nervous time to be a Jays fan, been a long time coming. You guys are gonna be good next year and hopefully we're right there with you.

When they convert to real grass, the outfield wall is one area that can very easily be upgraded. Right now it is entirely mobile, so that it can be taken down when the stadium converts for football purposes. Obviously that type of wall will no longer be necessary when the conversion doesn't have to happen any more.

I agree that a slightly lower wall would be a bit more exciting. Home-run robbery has become a really exciting part of the game. However, I don't think an unsymmetrical outfield wall is needed. If they just make the permanent wall ~1 foot lower (or whatever) and move the fences back a tiny bit so the HR factor in the park doesn't change much, then it would suffice. Making the outfield wall unsymmetrical would change the character of the park quite a bit. When they do the upgrades, aside from going to real grass, the focus is going to be largely on the fan experience. Bigger seats, better seat orientation, etc. (i think).

I'm hoping they add some gloryholes to the men's washrooms at Rogers Centre.

Uh..no. That's just sick.

What they'll putting in is some automatic toilets and urinals.. which they already have done in the 100 level as part of renos (really hate automatic toilets BTW)

Gloryholes would be perfect for 7th inning stretch.

Ah I could respond to this negatively but I will take my wins when they come. Dirt infield is a win for everybody. I'm happy.

This is probably a dumb question but will there be any green turf in the infield or will it be entirely dirt? Or is a dirt infield just the running paths and mound?
