North of 60 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Don't care about Norris, guy spent the off-season f***ing around in a van instead of training. Alford on the other hand.... For 10-11 starts and higher than 50% chance of still missing the playoffs. Horrible deal.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Fatcow has probably been told this 20 times over the past couple years. No I haven't lol
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 AA must know that he has a good shot to re-sign Price AA doesn't know s***
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Fatcow has probably been told this 20 times over the past couple years. Guelph guys are dumm
aselvana Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 marcus stroman: welcome to the 6. You better stay long-term too!
fireballW Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Ugh eff it. I know it is not a great deal but I will just enjoy it. Why not? AA will rebuild the farm again. We are getting Price! Go Jays.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Norris will never be an ace. He can't even sort it out at AAA. Extend Price and all is well. Tulo for years plus Price for years = goodness
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I would bet my bank account that price leaves after this year. Jesus Christ what a s*** trade.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Guys don't forget that we do get a first round pick if we don't extend price No they don't.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 So someone tell me why this club didn't sign Shields + BP arm in the offseason and could have still held onto all our prospects? Good job AA !
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 All these smug toronto reporters right now, I hope they miss the playoffs and price leaves for the yankees. f*** THEM ALL
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I think Alex threw in Alford so the tigers can give 7 million to go with Price. f***ing dumb dumb
Smokey Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Without an extension.... yes, but it's understandable. When you paint yourself into a corner, you get bent over Exactly this.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Alford mah baby That was OUR Mookie Betts
xposbrad Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Norris will never be an ace. He can't even sort it out at AAA. Extend Price and all is well. Tulo for years plus Price for years = goodness You do know that Price will cost close to 25-30m/yr right?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Nats broadcast is talking Jays to the World Series...everyday media is never wrong.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I don't mind this trade at all. Jays get an ace (finally), and are now likely the faves to win the 2nd wild card at minimum. And they still have a shot at the division too.. Yanks have lots of games left with teams that are chasing them (Rays, O's, Jays, and the godawful Red Sox). And unlike Baltimore, we have the depth to do it, whereas the O's don't (why do you think the Upton rumors have gone nowhere?) Because of this, it now looks likely the Yankees will do nothing at the deadline, as most of their targets (Hamels, Price) ended up on other clubs, because the Yanks refuse to give up top prospects as they are in a transition phase (their contention this season is a bonus, but it depends on A-Rod and Tex staying healthy.)
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Jesus AA should be fired for this I guess he figured either way his job is on the line
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 The 2012 Cy Young Award might be the bane of the Jays franchise for a generation.
cusstown Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 So someone tell me why this club didn't sign Shields + BP arm in the offseason and could have still held onto all our prospects? Good job AA ! Probably because he preferred San Diego.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I hope people in Detroit leave Norris alone in his van : ( He will fit in, most of the city lives in vans
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I would bet my bank account that price leaves after this year. Jesus Christ what a s*** trade. Meh, Norris looks mediocre and Alford is far away, plus Price is exponentially better than Dickey. This is far better than the Mets trade IMO. I think I can stomach it.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 11 starts of price for 6-7 years of Norris and others hmmmmmm
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I hope people in Detroit leave Norris alone in his van : ( The look of a broke man - perfect fit for a city that's literally broke.
aselvana Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 if cash is coming back, could we get james shields?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 The better win the world series this year because this franchise is f***ed for the future.
