TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 if someone like estrada goes down...do we have any SP depth?? if anyone gets hurt...anywhere do they have any depth?
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Question is are we done now? I think since we've come this far another SP or an OF might be on the way.

JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 He's going to get $200+M. Mega contracts for 30+ year old pitchers are about the single most reckless and stupid thing a team can do. That's the scary thing. He'll command a fair chunk of change and the Jays give up players who might not be elite of the elite but only get a rental unless maybe they convince him to take a short term deal with a larger AAV to stick around for 2-3 years but unlikely.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 So no closer AA??? Fired! Kidding aside, landing Tulo and Price while giving up just Hoffman and Norris as top tier prospects is pretty ninja.... With an extension to Price, Jedi level mastery.
candymartinez Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 So it's just Norris? Don't like rentals as much as the next guy, but Norris isn't exactly a A+ prospect. I'll give him up for a very solid shot at the playoffs.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Payroll doesn't matter but s***** pitching at 34 while paying him 30+ million is ludicrous. These guys don't get it Buerhle says hi...

nmrch Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Why couldn't it be that bum Sanchez instead of Norris?

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Norris + Boyd + Labourt for Price Not bad at all.
S33n Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 To get blown out by the Astros on a hot Texas afternoon in early October. Why would we automatically get blown out? Right now our team is better than theirs.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Labourt: -Nothing Boud: Nothing Norris: Great asset
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 And we give up what? Don't know, just a question. But there is still talent in the minors
aselvana Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 chris arhcer: if anyone wants to know what it looks like to be all in, check out the jays
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Buerhle says hi... Wtf are you talking about. Please tell me?
baloojayz Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Why couldn't it be that bum Sanchez instead of Norris? Because he's a bum
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Why couldn't it be that bum Sanchez instead of Norris? If only but DD knows better
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 FULL DEAL: @bluejays acquire LHP David Price from @tigers for LHP Daniel Norris, LHP Jairo Labourt & LHP Matt Boyd. http://t.co/sEi3tbwQBH
nmrch Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Because he's a bum Most people don't seem to think so, the problem is, the fat greek thinks he's a really good pitcher.
fireballW Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Why couldn't it be that bum Sanchez instead of Norris? My God it would have been sweet to have him be a guy used to get a good player. Sadly baseball organization's are getting too smart.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 People are underestimating the role that Boyd has, he's valuable pitching depth that I would rather throw out than someone like Doubront. Lack of depth has been a problem that anthopoulos has kept pushing on himself. If someone goes down there's a problem.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I hope AA can pull a rabbit out of his hat in the offseason and sign a starter or two maybe trade a bat for some prospects or guys with some control. Our SP depth is virtually nonexistent now and with MB, Price FAs and RAD option year without a guarantee he's brought back (though with our rotation issues he probably will be), they'll need something to help out in the event someone goes down again or isn't ready eg if Sanchez is in the rotation. I guess AA thinks there's a chance to make the PS and wants to give it a shot and/or has a plan for the offseason. I'm still in shock they pulled this off.
