Smokey Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 RIP Toronto Blue Jays 07/30/2015 Take it easy buddy. Now it all comes down to the actual results on the field. If the Jays start piling on the wins, not many people will be complaining down the line. I actually really like this team now even though a lot assets were unnecessary wasted in the process.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Would anyone actually want an extension? Why wouldn't you want an extension? Hilarious that you would call one "franchise crippling" without knowing the numbers or what our future payroll looks like.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 ONLY NORRIS?! AFURHUVVOTVUWITUVWNUVVOawetbwe45nwe4tm4m436

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Jon Morosi @jonmorosi now9 seconds ago Anthony Alford is NOT in the deal, source says. Heartening. I don't love Alford as much as most but it would be nice to not completely empty the holster for David Price.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Alford not included! Yay Then who?
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I'm gonna laugh at all you idiots who love this when Price is succeeding elsewhere and Norris is being a stud in Detroit while the jays have nothing to show for it. If he doesn't re-sign and we don't get one of the remaining big fish FA pitchers or win the WS, then we get bent over. Hard. But if he re-signs, I have no issue. Got pretty much 3 more years of should-be playoff teams.
Frag Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Apparently, it's Norris, Boyd and Labourt.
Hipfan Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Well I like Norris a lot and would be sad to see him go, but I love that the Jays are going for it. AA certainly knows how to draft, so even though the farm system has been heavily depleted, there are still some good players in the pipeline, and I'm sure (assuming AA gets an extension) that there will be more. At least we can't complain that they haven't done anything at the deadline this year!
fireballW Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Any chance Price would sign a 1 year extension for like $30-35m? If he walks next year at least you get a first rounder back. No. Why would he risk that? He will get a huge deal, what does he have to gain on a 1 year deal? A few extra million at the risk of getting injured or regressing? No way.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Alford not included! Yay Then who?
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 @Ken_Rosenthal: Deal is official. Price is a member of the #BlueJays. Norris going to #Tigers.
CaptMurphy Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 With M.B. and R.A.D.'s salaries coming off the books, I hope the Blue Jays make a big effort to resign Price. They'll have the money, so that won't be an excuse.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Considering what we now have: it's an automatic two wins against the starts we have to face if he was a Yankee. We're now in second wildcard territory at least. If we lock them up in Rogers coughs up the money for an extension (like they said they do), then I have no problem with this. Wow David Price is a Jay Van, do you actually think Rogers is gonna she'll out the cash for Price? Doubt it, even more so if they don't win the division.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 #Tigers also get back Norris, Labourt and Boyd from #BlueJays
nmrch Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Wow, i was happy with the Tulo trade but this is scary. Its f***ing nuts, a .500 team does not need and should need David Price. Castro and Hoffman were incredibly overrated but Norris is a legit talent and throwing in Alford seems to be a worse overpayment than Syndergaard and d'Arnaud
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Pompey would be twice as devasting as he is major league ready
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Apparently, it's Norris, Boyd and Labourt. Source
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I'm thinking we might see Norris, Boyd and Smith Jr.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Okay no Alford makes it better
