    He could've still executed most of that plan while extending the window another 3 years by signing Eddie and finding a value contract or 2 for the pen. Maybe by then it wouldn't have been a window at all. Losing Eddie is a colossal loss and a f*** up on both sides. We now have a guy who can hopefully build the farm system and a treadmill team at a time when the fanbase has finally been energized enough to justify upping the payroll. Now that could all go away. We could have very well been the next Red Sox if we maintained that window by doing a little bit to improve the current team.

    AA fits horribly with Friedman's genius-level acumen, the Dodgers clearly wouldn't hire the fat Greek piece of s*** amirite?

    And yet the Sox have usually found ways to be relevant over the last 15 years despite all of these signings, mostly because they also know how to draft well. The Jays could easily do the same if they wanted to, but their mediocre drafting history other than year 1 of AA's tenure means they and some of the fans around here have to give too much of a s*** about $/WAR and contract value, in which case you end up with your own short term windows where you might be lucky to get a superstar who kills it for 5 years upon entering the majors until they leave in free agency, a few good players who kill it for maybe 2-3 years after some development in the bigs upon which they also leave in free agency and maybe some decent value signings/trades, a perfect formula for sustainable mediocrity where you basically rely on killing the draft every year.

    And that's quite frankly the dumbest thing they can do with the offence that they have. It's absolutely stupid to waste those years to bide time for cheap pitching. Sign aces, draft your cheap pitching then.

    For all the bashing being done about AA trading prospects, at least he drafted those prospects. Shapiro's drafting record is pretty awful.

    He also signed BJ Ryan, drafted Russ Adams, Romero over Tulo, put Rios on waivers and lost him for nothing, and his drafting in general was pretty poor. Oh and he also burned bridges with Frank Thomas and somehow Adam Dunn who never even played for him.

    Well let's use hindsight since people love it with bullpen moves. The Jays didn't score another run, so no matter who they brought in they would've lost. At least now they have Sanchez available for tomorrow if they're in a better position. I don't get at all why he used Lowe in the 9th though, that was absolutely retarded.

    And you're still fine with keeping him in against Morales and Moustakas? Maybe Loup should've come in instead of Osuna? Neither of those seem like good options to me. Cecil isn't there. You can argue he should have used Hendricks earlier, but he would've been facing those exact same two guys if he came in for Stroman, he couldn't keep Stroman cause it was the middle of the order the fourth time, Loup couldn't get those guys out in game 2, so what can he do at that point?

    Why are people bitching about the relievers? Who was Gibby going to bring in in the 7th and 8th? Hawkins? He's been crap for the last while. Hendricks? Just look at this outing. Tepera? He brought in Hendricks in the 9th cause there was only 9 outs left as opposed to 3 and he still blew it, if that was in the 7th we'd potentially be f***ed right now. The bullpen outside of Sanchez, Lowe and Osuna is completely untrustworthy right now.

    Who cares if he's the best player on earth? Who's the better player this year? I'm not about to suddenly anoint Trout as clearly better this year because of 0.2 WAR (FG says 6.5 to 6.3). Not to mention as a team the Jays success is bound to garner more attention than LA if the season continues like this. I guess we'll see in October.
