This is an old tweet now, but wow what a f***ing stupid comment.

Yeah. Colorado obviously isn't buying Tulo's zips projections. And they're more familiar than anyone with his medical status.

or because projections say so..?

If the Rockies F.O. is using the same projection systems as we, the public, are, I feel bad for Rockies fans

I can't believe you of all people are pupuing this deal. Get the f*** out.

The deal seems good don't get me wrong.

But, has anyone mentioned Tulowitzki's season so far? Much lower walk rate, higher K rate with much less power. It's only 90 games I know, but with his age injury concerns coming to turf maybe we should temper our expectations. Let's hope this works out, regardless it's one of those moves that you have to make to take a risk with the window closing so I'm all for it.

You'd have to be pretty down on Tulo to think the Reyes deal is preferable just on account of it being shorter.

I don't think that at all. I think Reyes being in the deal is what makes it acceptable. Turns Tulo from a free agent deal to almost half that value.

I hadn't considered the Colorado effect on Reyes. The Rockies might be in the best position of any team to rebuild Reyes' value.

Walk rate has return to normal in June and July. April and May was abnormally low, so that'll drag his season averages down.

He's had a pretty terrible July :/

I've never called it a bad deal. I just don't think it's the slam dunk win a lot of people seem to think it is.

Tulo's great and all but the real question is who's pitching for us today

Yeah I mean the wet blankets in this thread COULD be right in that Tulo ends up like Reyes but it's not guaranteed. This is a good deal for a lot of reasons.

-We dumped a bad contract. Reyes has already hit the wall, Tulo isn't guaranteed to do the same. So we've dealt a bad contract for a contract that COULD be bad but won't necessarily be.

-Even if Tulo does become a negative asset, we are kicking the can down the road for an older team trying to contend.

-AA has shown the ability to move bad contracts in the past (Vernon Wells and now Reyes). This assumes AA is even here in a few years though.

-We didn't even give up a Top 50 prospect.

-Look at the market right now. The Royals got a better package for a half season of Cueto and this is with 8 good starters available on the market. Tulo is the only SS I know of on the trade market and their are several big market teams that needed a SS. It just seems like the Rockies were a little light in what they acquired.

Is this a slam dunk home run? No it's not. But it's a solid B+ to A- trade to me.

They're already trying to do that with Reyes

"TWEET SNIPS"

Man, some of those re-tweets or responses (darn you crazy kids and your lingoes) are rough! Don't think Rey is going to get anymore love in Colorado.

I'd be mad if I were Hoffman too, his career just took a major blow. There's a very real chance that this trade affects his earning power by millions.

I don't hate the deal, but this is a win for Colorado.

They get rid of Tulo who'll start to decline in a year or two and replace him with Reyes. Reyes may not be on Tulo's level but he's still a very good player, and they aren't committed to him for five more years. On top of that they get two great prospects, one who would have been a top five pick before TJ. Now if they flip Reyes for a couple more pieces, they're essentially have a huge haul for Tulo.

Tbh it's very concerning but we need to hope AA did his due diligence and scouting.

I don't think it was a burn really. They removed a pitcher and they want to know who's replacing him.

With all the doubts of Toronto being able to move Reyes, why do people assume Colorado is going to be able to easily flip him? Do they have millions that they can eat that I am unaware of?
