Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 He didn't need a passport when he traveled here with the rockies? He's an American travelling in the states, his passport's in Colorado, there's no reason for him to have it on him at the moment.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 He didn't need a passport when he traveled here with the rockies? You misread. He traveled to Chicago for a series, and didnt bring his passport with him since he didn't need it. Now he has to go back home to Colorado to pick up his passport so he can enter Canada.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Give the Man some time to tie up some loose ends lol.

LTR Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 God I hope Tulo will get better and this isn't a perm decline.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I think Hawkins is getting severely overlooked today. I mean this gives a very solid 8th inning guy along with Bo and Loup and Cecil. Sanchez is in there too somewhere but i don't have too many huge concerns with the pen now that Hawkins pushes everyone back
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I would trade these 3 prospects straight up for Tulo. The fact we managed to dump all of Reyes' contract ... Great move.

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 How much does Cargo go for? Woulda been epic to get him too haha.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 How much does Cargo go for? Woulda been epic to get him too haha. He has 37m remaining for 2 years, so you'd have to give some prospects too.
PhillyBlueJay Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So..... Interesting note here? The Jays have a policy of no trade clauses and this guy has one invoked as part of the trade! Wonder how that will sit with Bautista who argued for one and AA said never going to allow it now it in the future as team policy. Seems Bautista caved in his contract demands at the time on assurances no other player after him would get one??? Plot now has thickened!!!

He got one on a technicality. I can't see Bautista being that petty especially considering that he was upset about the team not making moves last year.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 The passport office is busy today...this is actually crazy. http://deadspin.com/latroy-hawkins-has-had-an-adorable-dedicated-fan-club-1544918951 Relief pitcher LaTroy Hawkins has been in the MLB so long, he's got a chance at becoming the oldest player in the league this season, depending on final rosters. And he's had fans who've stuck with him for the majority of his career. Since 2000, Hawkins has been followed by the LaTroy Hawkins Fan Club, a loyal group of fans who support him, regardless of his team. The fan club of approximately 40 people—which Hawkins today recognizes as "family"—began with a bunch of Twins fans, as Hawkins was playing for Minnesota at the time. The club kept following him even after he left the Twins, though. Hell, even when he played for the Yankees, they still supported him. Hawkins has played for 10 different teams in his career, and some members of LHFC have attended every spring training camp. The club is for more than just baseball, though. From Jim Caple of ESPN: Linda Campbell (Larry's wife and LHFC member No. 20) says that when Hawkins' wife, Anita, was pregnant with daughter, Troi, a dozen years ago, she invited female fan club members to a baby shower that the Twins' wives threw. Anita had hernia surgery a few months after she gave birth and was unable to lift Troi. So the members got together and helped out. "We took assorted times — first thing in the morning, lunch time, evening time," Campbell says. "It was when LaTroy and the Twins were on the road so we took different shifts taking care of Troi — giving her a bath, feeding her, anything we could do for Anita. In fact, one morning we got there before they even got up." The members send birthday cards and greetings to Hawkins' mother and other relatives. Some will drive him around when he's in town with a team and doesn't have a car. Each year, the LHFC holds a dinner on Hawkins' birthday and calls him to sing "Happy Birthday."
PhillyBlueJay Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Well it does beg a question that if they offer Bautista a 4 year contract extension and Bautista says he wants a no trade clause this time.... AA can't say the team does not have one currently so things have been put in motion both on free agents and extending future players on contracts. That's all I am saying...

No because the Bluejays did not dish out Tulo's contract.

Bautista is a 10/5 rule player, he can veto any trade now or in the future in the event of an extension. The power is in his own hands already.

Statman Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 f***, MLB 15 The Show will not let me do the deal. Can't force the trade either. Only will let me do Castro for Hawkins straight up. Now have to wait for the roster update and restart my franchise.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 The only negative I can see is this trade wasn't made back in May. Jays would be at least a few games over .500 with just tulo upgrade on D
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I swear the 10/5 rule is the most overlooked in baseball, its easy to tell who are Leaf fans.
BasicB Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So what will AA use to get pitching now. As it stands even after this year we have 2 starters pencilled in Stroman and Hutch. This is great. We need pitching http://i.imgur.com/xYPwE0z.jpg How can a product of the 1980s not understand that you never take 4 Fat Guys?
bill Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 This trade is just a swap of big contracts. Tulo slightly better overall than Reyes. But not enough difference to put them in a playoff position. Basically just a dump of Reyes who was disliked by the fans.

Tulo is better in all the defensive and offensive metrics and so would it be going forward.
