HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Not that it is anything, but Tulo finished 0-5 last night and is 0-20. Lets hope he doesn't have an lingering injury he's not telling anyone ;x This deal transpired so quickly I don't think there were physicals involved..
Smokey Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 It's funny how I almost made a post yesterday about how I wouldn't trade for Tulowitzki because his injury record disgusts me, and while that's true, I still lost my s*** when I saw the at-bat alert because I'm a mindless fanboy. Fixed that for you, little guy.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I wonder if Edwin for Jeff Samardzija could make sense now. White Sox have great pitching and no offence. Might help them reload for next year. Edwin has to say yes to trade

I fully expect him to be revitalized by this trade. I think he was hating life in general playing for the Rockies.
baloojayz Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If AA can go get Carrasco without giving up Stroman, I say go for it What would we give them that we haven't before?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If AA can go get Carrasco without giving up Stroman, I say go for it Doubtful but I am on board the Carrasco train. I'd have no issues with dealing Stroman. Carrasco for Stroman+, Shields for free? Now we're talking.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 good article on how s***** the Rockies treated him yesterday http://sports.yahoo.com/news/inside-the-shocking-trade-of-troy-tulowitzki-125111163.html
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 It's a joke, FFS. He can joke...YOU can't.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I wonder if Edwin for Jeff Samardzija could make sense now. White Sox have great pitching and no offence. HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Any news on the 3rd prospect? it was Tinoco. Ranked 16th I think. Scrub.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Any news on the 3rd prospect? Jesus Tinoco.
mtljaysfan Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 In my mind for the Jays to be serious contenders this year, we needed to - get a good SP - replace reyes - Replace Gibbons - Call up Pompey Good start AA!!
Devo1980 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin has to say yes to trade Guys waive those all the time though, do they not?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Any news on the 3rd prospect? IIRC, it said Jesus Tinoco somewhere ITT.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 AA is a mad man i love it. Now upgrade LF and SP. Pompey Fiers/Cashner
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So Hoffman is the only prospect of consequence.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 The only thing that concerns me is that after they gave up Hoffman and Castro, you still have to assume they're going to look for more pitching, which means even more of the farm will be dealt. I really hope this doesn't turn into a 2012 thing. Or maybe they're thinking of flipping Tulo? There's probably a really low chance of that, but it could be a possibility.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Any news on the 3rd prospect? I'm assuming a PTBNL so someone drafted this season.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 David Schoenfield Let's see, Jose Reyes is a bad defensive SS with a .322 OBP and little power making $22M. Good luck trading him, Rockies. They won't trade him... just like they couldn't trade Tulo after this season from the 10/5 rule. They basically cut their guarantees in half and in 2.5 years will have money and likely 2 young pitchers who are contributing at the MLB level. It's not a bad move by Rockies. Not to mention they aren't going to be competitive for the next couple years anyway.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm just glad AA didn't trade off prospects for a one year rental. This is very exciting, and even helps the bullpen a little. Now, we just need to pick up one more starter, and we're looking playoff bound. I expect AA to go all in, and give up any remaining prospect stock we have left. His contract is on the line and he doesn't give a f, about the Jays chances five years from now. I will say that AA has been doing an excellent job of scouting and drafting pitchers.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I am just so f***ing happy that Reyes is gone.....his nonchalant "who-f***ing-cares-if-we-win-let's-all-just-have-a-bunch-of-f***ing-laughs" attitude made me want to donkey kick him in the back in front of a bus. I can't imagine that that kind of attitude played well for Donaldson and Martin etc. Racist!

It's pretty clear AA has changed his thinking since 2012. Great value at ok price is better than good value at bargain price.

Physicals are always part of the trade, no trade or signing can be completed without one.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If they flipped Tulo, they would need another shortstop... if that was the plan, they would have just kept Reyes and gotten $$ relief from Colorado. Plus, Tulo has a full no-trade now lol Hoffman is only one of a few top trade chips. They have plenty of time and resources to trade for a starting pitcher. Ryan Goins is a stud!
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 These Reyes haters are the worst kind of people, a happy nice humble dude is ripped apart because he's getting old. Unbelievable!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Are you serious? Physicals are always part of the trade, no trade or signing can be completed without one. By Physicals I mean an actual exam. Exams are not compulsory. The exchanging of medical information is expected, though. Think about it. Tulo was lifted in the 9th and then an hour later he gets traded? Not enough time to do a physical.

I understand, but if they still expect to give up legitimate prospect value for a pitcher, does the upgrade from Reyes to Tulo justify the price of Hoffman+? Hoffman could have been a key piece in a trade for a big arm. I don't think that the difference between Reyes in Tulo is all that significant in 2015.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So Hoffman is the only prospect of consequence. I don't understand the casual dismissal of Castro. He still a young guy who throws extremely hard. If he was still dominating A+ as a starter like he should be, we would all be excited about him. Aggressive promotions shouldn't diminish him as a prospect. I'll miss him more than Hoffman to be honest.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
