DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Kuma has way more value then this. He's a 34yo rental coming off a lat injury, I really don't think it should take a premium asset.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Why would Seattle give up either Kuma @ 1/16 or a compensation pick for Dioner Navarro?

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Why would Seattle give up either Kuma @ 1/16 or a compensation pick for Dioner Navarro? They won't. Lipchitz is off his rocker, here.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Why would Seattle give up either Kuma @ 1/16 or a compensation pick for Dioner Navarro? Where did anyone say that? I said Kuma for Navarro + comp pick value would make sense.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 They won't. Lipchitz is off his rocker, here. I never said they would...
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I never said they would... Didn't you bring up Dickey and Navvy for Kuma, or was that someone else?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Didn't you bring up Dickey and Navvy for Kuma, or was that someone else? That was me but I listened to the arguments others were saying and agreed. Dickey doesn't make sense but some form of Navarro + does.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I see, but comp value would be someone like Hollon or SRF, imo. Comp pick value is $8.5m-$11m according to JFaS' article http://www.breakingblue.ca/2014/03/12/the-value-of-draft-picks/

I can't justify SRF or Hollon for a rental, it's a shame they already moved DeJong he seems like a good fit. Maybe Jairo Labourt could work. On the higher end of the spectrum Matt Boyd (really don't like his stuff at the MLB level but the #'s are pretty good) + Navarro might work.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 The only thing I got out of that article is that JFaS is a flames fan. All respect has been lost. What did you think JFaS stands for, Jays Farts and Stamps? Jays Friends and Stamps? Jays Fairytales and Stamps?

Likely us eating fatty's contract also.

See post above. P.S. If you were a GM, you'd get hung up on alot, lol.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Ben Nicholson-Smith #BlueJays one of three most aggressive teams on Johnny Cueto along with #Astros & #Royals, @bobnightengale reports.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 don't toy with my heart Hoffman + Norris + Pompey + Pimp-Foley >> Mondesi + Finnegan + Bonifacio or Velasquez + Moran + Hader
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I kind of like the fact there dealing with a non sabre metric gm in Cincy hopefully AA can give up some rawer prospects.
JaysRap Verified Member Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Just listening to the Friday edition (July 10th) of Baseball Tonight Podcast, Buster Olney threw out if he was San Diego he'd be looking to be a seller and would put everyone out there (mentioned Cashner, Shields, Kimbrel, Upton) among others... Any ideas what kind of offers it would take to pry 2 (or maybe 3) from there? Seems very Marlins 2.0 of trying to get guys who just signed long term contracts with a new team and after it's not working trying to put them on our squad.

I saw an article yesterday that said Shields is being actively shopped around.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Unless we sign Cueto to an extension giving up Norris or Hoffman for him is a terrible idea.
