He's good defensively, and over the last two years has hit lefties decently (albeit a rather sss). I have to assume the plan is to platoon him and Goins at 2nd. Pennington also presumably gives us some speed off the bench. I'm not hugely in favor of picking him up, but I don't think it's as bad as people seem to think.

If the cost is a c level prospect or an otherwise irrelevant piece, then who cares.

Not a bad move. It gives us a decent backup for Tulo at SS and Goins at 2B instead of Kawasaki. Next up, can we add another OF?

I am willing to bet that he needs to get it cleaned up with surgery but its not something he was going to do during the season because its not "serious". I hope he is able to get that done and come back 100%

No idea. I'd think there's probably something in there that will end up requiring surgery. This doesn't really have the feeling of injury prone to me.
