HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 FYI Upton sucks this year. Look at his splits. Specifically, his last two months https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8080/splits/
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Jon Heyman jays were team on parra earlier. but brewers wanted matt boyd, who went in david price trade. o's best bet now for GP Parra for Boyd?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 They would want stuff for Upton, although he's not as good as most people think. I would happily absorb Shields' contract and toss in a C prospect. Not a bad idea at all to take both, as long as Preller doesn't want much prospect capital in return. I'd be very happy to see Boston get Kimbrel. They'd have to pay through the nose and have more pressing priorities. Upton+Shields would be ridonkulous at this point. I'd like to see NY get Kimbrel if not Boston. With Betances/Miller, their elite RP are going to start taking away from each other's opportunities.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 But can he play better in Lf than what currently, that's the question? We don't need him for his bat! Hence why the f*** is Pompey not up yet! He might be a plus plus at both!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Wow I did not realize Parra is having a good year. 140 wRC I would have done Boyd for Parra.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Chris Cotillo Watch Jays on OF additions. @JonHeymanCBS says they were in on Parra. Hearing they also were in on Bruce, which is no longer possibility. Pompey is ready, bitches!!

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 He's worse than Cola on defense though... He's not worse than Portobello, but this year he's bad. Historically though, at least with the Dbacks, he was an above average OF. Maybe the dimensions in Miller park are doing him in? I dunno.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Sure, Parra is good He's not GG caliber OF anymore. Pompey 2015 > Parra
SAAviour Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 This is now the time for Rogers to man up and take on contracts without having to give up anymore prospects. Start with Shields, take his entire contract and give away nothing.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 Will Venable should be pretty cheap to get and would not be a bad stop gap to Saunders.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'd like to request that the entirety of the baseball world put a pause on all of their transactions and operations and not resume them until I'm back from my appointment.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'd be happy if their only major acquisition at the deadline is Chapman or Kimbrel. I know bullpen is not their most pressing need but it still concerns me
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 As long as Parra doesn't cost a lot. I'm pretty surprised that they don't believe in Pompey.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Jays still after carrasco according to Stark... Hutch, Pompey, Alford, plus a pitching prospect. That could come back to haunt us.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yankees apparently are in on Chapman. Miller, Betances, Chapman lights out after the 6th.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Capps is highly underrated, but how much of his dominance is based on his delivery, and will it be legal moving forward?
SAAviour Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Hutch++ might attract interest from Cleveland. That would be interesting. What would you guys give up for Carter Capps? Maybe SRF+? At this point I don't want anymore minor leaguers traded away, I want Rogers to take on salary. I know, won't happen though.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 As long as Parra doesn't cost a lot. I'm pretty surprised that they don't believe in Pompey. Holding Pompey back in case of injury is the smarter play (as long as Parra isn't over-priced of course).
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 His super-elite performance level (26% SwStr%) is entirely based on the delivery. Without it he'd be great, but not super-elite. I doubt they'd declare it illegal in-season, but at some point it should probably be outlawed. This is something that would probably be grandfathered.
OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Can't see how we'd have the juice for Carrasco without dealing a couple players off the 25. Hutch, Pompey, SRF, Nay and Urena maybe?

You do that deal every time. Carrasco is the top of the rotation arm you need to pair with Stroman, but the salary doesn't preclude you from adding another start in the OS. I don't think we have the prospects to pull it off, but its the perfect addition if we could.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Do we have enough to get Carrasco. I'd trade anybody from the farm
