What does that mean? He'll project as a 4-win pitcher next year.

I know that, and if they move him, he has enough value right now to bring them back guys that can contribute that much as early as next year.

I'm agreeing with you.

They'd have no need for Valencia and Pillar doesn't really fit either.

Do you think Norris for Cueto is reasonable? Carrasco is perhaps better and has five additional years of cheap control.

I don't know, I'm just thinking some controllable decent established pieces might have to be added.

Norris for Cueto is reasonable, but it might cost more than just Norris, don't you think? That's why I don't even know if the Jays have the ability to put together a package for him. Carrasco discussions probably start with a consensus top 10 prospect don't they? The Jays don't have one of those.

Edit: Stroman?

AA only controls the Blue Jays though. The Indians probably leaked it to get other teams involved.

No reason for them to. Picking up the phone and telling teams he might be available would get almost every team instantly involved. Media not required (and would also prevent the home fans from rioting).

Regardless, this seems like the kind of fit the Dodgers would be dreaming of, and they have the position prospects the Indians are dreaming of.

Makes sense for Indians. Carrasco is at peak value and with a guy who has had injury concerns in the past he could blow his arm out and become a negative asset very quickly. I'd be comfortable trading Hoffman, Norris and a lesser prospect for him but I assume it would cost more than that. My guess is they would want Alford in any deal which would be pretty tough to give up if you are already trading your 2 best prospects.

Why isn't the Jays lineup out yet? Gibbons is a f***head.

Gibbons is such a f***tard for not updating mlb.com. What a f***head. That's his responsibility, it's on him. He needs to man up and own that, website manager is clearly the duty of being a manager of a professional baseball team. We deserve better, what a f***head.

yeah that was my bad, he's still a f***tard with these lineups he's putting out there though.

I'd give up Norris + Hoffman + Pompey + other good stuff for Carrasco. He's an ace on amazing contract.

4 top prospects for an ace in his prime still seems like a steal.

All that control at a cheap price though, right up AA/Rogers alley..

I hate that Carrasco's name was brought up. Got me all excited and I know there's no chance of it happening. Bastards.

Your avatar is disturbing.

I am surprised to hear you say that. Considering you have a picture of Arnold, you should probably be the person who appreciates his avatar most on this forum. :)

..well, at least 2nd to king.

I think there's a lot less value for pitchers on long term contracts. Sure all the years of control are nice but its likely he gets hurt/becomes ineffective and those cheap years of control aren't as valuable so more.

Well it just said that they talked, so the extent of the conversion was

"Hey is Carrasco available?"

"No"

"OK"

That's exactly how the Donaldson deal began.

Alright then..

"No"

"OK, how about we give you Norris, Pompey, Hoffman and Pentecost?"

7 days from now AA acquires Aaron Harang - pats himself on the back for a job well done

True, good point for sure but I don't see another Ricky Romero here.

There's a big difference between 4 guaranteed cheap years and a 7 to 10 year high value contract.

Would you give up Norris for Carrasco? How much more are you willing to sacrifice?

I'd do it.

But honestly I expect the Indians to ask for more. Carrasco has been STELLAR

everything. give everything

I think the Blue Jays are making a deal right now. Over heard executive from team and PR guy rushed him out of box while I was doing my show

Please make a deal! Cashner and Ross have control through 2016 (and 2017 for Ross).

Depends what we give up. I wouldn't be too happy if we gave up someone like Hoffman for Cashner, but Ross is a different story.

Not for top prospects though...more of a Pompey, Pentecost, Alford, Castro type
