baubau Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 So Norris or Hoffman Could have also been Boyd. Sure BB would have loved him and sure Boyd would have, like most pitchers, excelled at O.co.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I'd give up Norris + Hoffman + Pompey + other stuff for Carrasco. He's an ace on amazing contract. So why would the Indians even entertain the idea of trading him? :/ I never pictured him as a trade candidate simply because he's not the kind of guy thats available.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 carrasco??!? gimme gimme gimme, I don't care what the price is, get his ass on this team

wmoz11 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Would you give up Norris for Carrasco? How much more are you willing to sacrifice? I'd do it. But honestly I expect the Indians to ask for more. Carrasco has been STELLAR And has an incredibly team-friendly contract. Can't imagine Norris alone would get that done. Probably needs at least another significant piece.

Carrasco has been STELLAR Carrasco is 28, a front of the rotation starter, and signed for 3 years + 2 team options, with only $20m guaranteed and $37m over five years if team options are picked up. Hell yeah you trade Norris for him. It will take way more than him, though.
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I like all this talk and incoming tweets, the Jays need to make some deadline noise instead of being passively in the back seat again. I believe in this team and our time is now!! With Sanchez returning and 1 or 2 additions I think we can seriously contend..
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I'd give up Norris + Hoffman + Pompey + other good stuff for Carrasco. He's an ace on amazing contract. He certainly seems like an ace in the making. I would sell the farm for him but what would realistically get it done? Norris + Hoffman + Pompey might not even do it.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I could see them wanting a guy like Smoak and to just DH Santana as well
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Alright well the Indians are not short on pitching. What they do need is good defense and hitting. If I were them I'd ask Norris and Pillar at a minimum. They'd probably want Pompey too, but we can't afford to have a gap in our outfield. Or we could spring another trade to get a controllable LF/CF.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 this is Bowden, so.. User Actions Follow Jim Bowden @JimBowden_ESPN Royals&Blue Jays are all “in” on Cueto willing to move top prospect for rental, realizing value much higher than Kazmir..both need Game 1 P

Mkay, so NorthOf49 should never be the GM. Remember that folks! But if Carrasco is being dealt, yeah, he'd cost quite a bit lol. I would be surprised if Clevland wouldn't try and move Salazar first.

Because Carrasco is the kind of guy that can bring you a f***load of young, premium talent that is close to the majors. The package they get for Carrasco should easily be able to out-WAR Carrasco himself in 2016.

Governator Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 If Carrasco gets dealt here without moving a significant piece from the roster I'd be picking up some lube this weekend.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 If Carrasco gets dealt here without moving a significant piece from the roster I'd be picking up some lube this weekend. Would that be even enough to forgive AA over his Mets/Marlins deals?
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 He's already one of the very best pitchers in baseball. Toss in Pentecost and someone else too. Qualified pitchers, last calendar year: http://i.imgur.com/PU8pu4F.png Is this a pure wish list and speculation on this board or has there been actual rumblings he might be available?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 What? Carrasco is an elite major leaguer who makes very little through 2020. The value of our top prospects doesn't even come close to comparing. Take a deep breath, call in the cleaning crew, and remember that if you're hearing it in the media it probably isn't true. AA doesn't like leaks.

Qualified pitchers, last calendar year: http://i.imgur.com/PU8pu4F.png Semantics, he's not "an established ace". But yes he's great and they'd probably have to deal quite a bit. I'd imagine they might ask for Pillar and maybe want Valencia, on top Norris etc.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Is this a pure wish list and speculation on this board or has there been actual rumblings he might be available? Rumblings he might be available, and the rest is just media speculation on what teams would be most interested and have the trade chips to land him.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Would that be even enough to forgive AA over his Mets/Marlins deals? Getting Carrasco & Donaldson in the same year would be a massive step in the right direction.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 How can he be an ace if he hasn't had a 20 win season
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 How can he be an ace if he hasn't had a 20 win season My troll senses are tingling.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 What does that mean? He'll project as a 4-win pitcher next year. lol I was thinking the same thing that made very little sense.

The values of our top prospects don't even come close to comparing. I was joking. Sorry, I thought the "but .. yea .. he'd cost quite a bit" would have cleared that. I'd easily part with anyone of our top prospects/pitchers for him. No question.
