TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 No reciprocal move reported but maybe Jenkins down? Gives us additional help as he can play Corner OF spots. Apparently they've decided a Goins/Valencia corner outfield combo was not ideal. Seems like Bautista / Saunders are delayed too.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Hard to see where he fits. He's got to be an even worse OF defender than Valencia. 1B/DH all the way
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Really doesn't make sense why AA wants s***** defensive players. And all these AAAA fodder guys can't hit anyway. Half of line-up is dead weight and we're still producing well.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Why Collabello was ever on the 40 man roster is beyond me. Was exposed with the Twins last year. Can't hit anything but the fastball
polar bear Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm thinking Saunders back to the dl I'm thinking Saunders for Happ was a huge mistake.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Saunders or Bautista to the DL? I wouldn't be surprised to Saunders came back too early and rehurt himself, he's been playing scared.

reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Who is this?? The guy who raked for a month in Minnesota last year.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I hear this Dalton Pompey kid is pretty promising. Anyone have info on him?
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Who is this?? You had this to say about Collabello in December: May goat/DFA He's right on time lol
bendera3 Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Our lack of outfield depth makes me shake my head.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Our lack of outfield depth makes me shake my head. Colby 143 wRC+ so far this year
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm thinking Saunders back to the dl Yeah maybe so. He's not moving well at all and then had the procedure. 15 days off might do him well.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Who is this?? he played for the Twinkies last year. Hit a bunch of bombs first couple weeks and then other teams figures out he cant hit breaking stuff and that was the end of him.
TRM Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Colby 143 wRC+ so far this year If Colby plays like 2013, he could get PAID this offseason. Just as likely he retires to hunt and fish and mudride though.
ColdPint Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 +1 for Saunders to the DL. He had a really visible hitch to his run that last game in Cleveland. Not sure how Collabello is the best choice to replace the potential loss of Saunders.....but I'm not AA.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I hear this Dalton Pompey kid is pretty promising. Anyone have info on him? How long before we can call him back up, 2 weeks after he was optioned??
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 How long before we can call him back up, 2 weeks after he was optioned?? 10 days. no time if anyone goes on the DL (I think we could pick from several)
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Colabello is leading Buffalo in OPS, Carrera was also hitting well. Seems like AA is paying attentiong to AAA stats (not so much AA given the Matt West DFA).
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 10 days. no time if anyone goes on the DL (I think we could pick from several) Thanks I should know this - didn't know about the DL thing at all

Even so, where would he take the at bats from? We already can't find any time for Smoak with the whole Bautista and EE situation.

All we REALLY need (offensively) is for EE and JB to start hitting Donaldson and Travis can't carry this team all year

Collabello to LF and Saunders to the DL seems like the most logical explanation (with Pillar to RF and Carrera to full time CF I guess). Would have been nice to give Pompey more rope given the OF situation but I do understand not wanting to bring him back up so soon after his demotion. Whole situation is pretty derpy.

Why would they move Pillar from CF? no reason
ColdPint Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 A month into the season and we have an outfield of Collabello, Pillar and Carrera in addition to an infield featuring Diaz/Goins. Yikes. Agreed on wishing Pompey was given more rope to sort things out. With that said, I think it was move based more on body language and the mental approach more than it was results.
