From what I've seen from him, he has taken so many terrible swings but he's also had a pretty good approach at laying off of junk pitches.

and his bat speed is pretty bad.

 

So he has the bat speed of Arencibia and the ugly swing of Pillar. He has the patience of a Devon Travis (April version)

 

But of course, the big deal for me is that he has the defense that makes Melky a Gold Glover.

 

Anyone know if we can send him down without exposing to waivers?

 

I was thinking this last night that his swing seems very long and i don't know how he does not get exposed up here. It maybe his approach at the plate. If we could ever get Jose back to the outfield he looks like a good DH vs LHP and Bench bat.

 

However it is still plenty early and he could go the way of Juan Francisco in a hurry
