Yep, the Valencia/Smoak platoon at 1st is the ideal situation. Could hopefully provide 1 maybe 2 WAR combined at the position.

Keep EE as DH as these two also provide very respectable defence, better then Lind for sure.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 who just ''picks up'' a pitch? The thing was running away and absolutely filthy This is the 3rd time that's happened in this organization. Graveman, Stroman and Norris..

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Dfa Fatboy navarro, Estrada and izturis! All good start the Department of Youth development team!
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 can anyone tell me what Norris' pitch count was for this start?
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I hope Gibbons doesn't plan to rely too much on Delabar...
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 can anyone tell me what Norris' pitch count was for this start? 69 pitches in 6 IP. He's basically Superman.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 69 pitches in 6 IP. He's basically Superman. my gawd, i know he is efficient, but that is maddux like
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Hutch / Redman Dickey/ Hynes/ Delbar Norris/ Castro piggyback Buehrle/ Schultz / Loup Shanchez / Osuna piggyback With Cecil as the Closer to finish things when needed! That's one Sexxxy pitching staff!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 He threw 82 pitches. Fantasy value Norris or Yusmeiro Petit?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Don't like the piggybacking idea..... just go with whoever is best suited for the role, make a commitment and stick with it. If you're worried about IP you could do some transitioning later on. Why would the piggyback scare you? Both Shanchez and Norris are the Starters just Castro and Osuna come in to finish the games not flipping starts between them! 5/4 or 6/3 innings even at 3 guarantees Castro Osuna 96 innings of work this year!
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Are you going by gameday? It was higher than that. It was from MLB gameday... I guess they updated it since.

So they should be good. However both Castro and Osuna will have one.

Both are better then Estrada and can learn more up then down I would think! plus Norris/ Castro easy 32 wins! Lol
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Holy s***, I can't believe there is still a week and a half until Opening Day. Spring Training is way too damn long. Seems like Norris and Sanchez have already started about 10 games each. Enough is enough. Either start ST later or the regular season earlier.

Lol I actually am not a fan of the Piggyback system the Jays used with Sanchez early on It never gave him the opportunity to face batters multiple time within the same start. And as much as that might be an advantage .....it could also work against him and affects his learning curve
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Holy s***, I can't believe there is still a week and a half until Opening Day. regular season starts really late this year. there are regular season games in October. world series will go into November....
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 regular season starts really late this year. there are regular season games in October. world series will go into November.... Just means there will be a shorter gap until Opening Day 2016.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 regular season starts really late this year. there are regular season games in October. world series will go into November.... Then why did Spring Training start in late-Feb instead of early-March? It seems like it's been going on for an eternity.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 You know spring training is for the players, right? Do they really need a month and a half, though? These last two weeks of ST seem highly pointless as the pitchers are pretty much stretched out and the hitters are getting a couple of AB's before sitting for scrubs. Maybe it's just my paranoia of another injury prior to the start of the season, because lord knows they'll play all the regulars and go all out for the Montreal games.

Some guys need a bit longer to be stretched out due to injury concerns and stuff like that. Tanaka threw 59 pitches today, other guys with some soreness need to take it slow as well. If they shorten spring training they end up rushing players more and that leads to more injuries which is NOT best for business.
