We can't have both Tolleson and Goins on the 25-man can we? Which one do you guys prefer for the job?

 

I'd reluctantly lean towards Goins just because he can field SS, but that bat... and Goins isn't even an above average runner despite his stature

 

I'd prefer Goins too because of the better SS defense. The only catch is that Tolleson is out of options.

I voted Tolleson in the poll earlier this year, but I've changed my mind. I think we need to take Goins because of the need for a backup SS. I'd rather have the + D than the little more bat Tolleson can offer.

Offensively, Tolleson's strength is hitting lefties which is not really a big concern with this team. Thats' why though I like Tolleson in a vaccum, I'm comfortable letting him go. I can't really see him sticking on the roster all year anyways. It's probably DFA him now or DFA him later so might as well see if you can sneak him past waivers now.

Yes, Goins and get Reyes out of the game in every possible situation where were leading in the 7th inning or above. His defense is spectacularly bad.

I couldn't have said it better myself. It's not like Tolleson can come off the bench and pinch hit. Maybe for Pompey if Pillar is still on the bench? But then you could simply pinch hit with Pillar...
