11/106 is very very good for a starter, 10%+.

change your sig he's unbanned

Over a full season it's good, sure, and definitely an encouraging sign. One start isn't that significant though; here's a quick histogram I prepared using the single-game data I collected a few weeks ago.

Is that for starters aged 20-24?

I'm not a fan of Sanchez in the rotatin but he had a solid start. If he can repeat it then perhaps an argument can be made that he is progressing. Right now it's just one start and even the worst SP have a good start from time to time.

No, but this is for starters who were younger than 25 during the entire year in which the outing took place:

Top five were starts made by Danny Salazar (.263), Allen Webster, Matt Harvey, Jose Fernandez, Jarrod Parker.

You would expect 20-24 starters to be better than the average since teams are incentivized to keep the less good ones in the minors. It's a pool of great young pitchers that have been deemed ready by their clubs.

excellent, there does not seem to be a significant difference

So far through today

Sanchez still making every LHB look like Babe Ruth

And getting lots of ground balls, and murdering RHB

Yes because he is still among the worst pitchers in all of the majors. Two respectable starts doesn't change anything.

He's 22, he's not supposed to be good yet

Yes, he has an irrational hate. It goes beyond the normal

Yes I hate him, but I am more then rational. Have you not read this entire thread? I want him to succeed, but the odds are he wont. Despite having 2 ok starts, he is still among the worst pitchers currently in the majors.

Yes, I realize that. If he can keep a low walk rate he will probably be an average pitcher this year. But the problem is that HE HASNT DONE THAT OVER 4 AND A HALF YEARS. Two starts with a 4~bb walk rate isn't a good enough sample to say he is an elite or even average pitcher.

He still has more bb then k, still cant get out LHB.

Don't read too much into MiLB stats. They are an indication, but how many times has a guy with great MiLB stats busted, and how many times has a guy with s***** MiLB stats become a star. Plenty of times for both. It's been well reported that mid last year in Buffalo an adjustment was made that has worked.

Bautista made an adjustment to his batting and became a superstar. It can happen to any player at any time. Not saying Sanchez has found a repeatable delivery that works in MLB, but the signs are encouraging.

Also, his BB and K rate are now identical, and trending in the right directions.

in other words, you have no counter argument

Hard to counter arguments that aren't based in reality.

unless it leads to 3, 4 or 10 respectable starts. He's starting to cut down the walks. He's getting more swinging strikes and he still has one of the highest ground ball rate of any starter in the MLB. You better hope he has a bad start in 5 days. Three solid starts in a row might make your head explode.

Randy Johnson was also tall, had good stuff and had bad minor league numbers. Maybe we have a 300 game winner on our hands here in Sanchez.

6'4 isn't freakishly tall like Johnson, but it isn't short either.
