labadee Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Normally I would agree with you but I think Francisco's time has come to an end. He is so exposed now Can't wait for Lawrie to get back and AA either getting a 3b or 2b. Need his finger in a hyperbolic chamber you mean hyperbaric chamber, and no evidence supports its use in broken bones
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 To this date, Texas has used 49 players so far. 27 pitchers, 22 position players. And we get this train wreck of a team next weekend at the Rogers Centre, while the O's get elite competition in Oakalnd. It would be great if the Jays take full advantage, come off the break fresh, exploit their walking MASH unit selves, and hopefully the O's slip against the As pick up some ground.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Casey Nails on to close. I feel like it's been forever since we last had a Casey sighting Yep I was in the middle of a "they shouldn't use Casey here" post but then I saw he hadn't pitched for five days. Worth getting him work here.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Really? It'll be the first time since 1992 the Jays won 50 before the AS break if they win one of the next two games? I guess all things considered this year, that's not horrible. Puts the team on track (give or take a game or two) from the 1992-93 year teams.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 There go. Now get to Price somehow tomorrow....

Also factoring in is the schedule...96 games before the ASB, which is a lot.
sh3156 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Big game by Dan Johnson 4 walks how big is that By the way I think its time to do away with Francisco. His strikeouts are killing this team

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Go Jays. Gained on the Yanks and Rays. A good day! Let's hope Reimold and Saki aren't on the shelf too long...

kgm1 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Great win tonite. Huge comeback and hopefully that picks them up after the dismal west coast swing . Lets win one tomorrow and then worry about the sweep. Kawasaki is a big loss thou ,little guy has played well so I hope it is only day to day . Ditto Reimold who I think was a huge pickup. Christ we may have to sacrifice Fatcow,s virginity soon. Either that or sacrifice a virgin. I vote King!

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Jays win!!!! wow Johnson 4 walks? Nice to see reye's bat coming back

This was fantastic. Jays win!!!! wow Johnson 4 walks? Nice to see reye's bat coming back Nobody should be surprised at this; throughout his career, Johnson has had genuinely elite plate discipline. Johnson and Reimold were both excellent pickups. Hope Reimold's injury isn't serious. If you want to contend, role players like Reimold, Johnson, and Kawasaki when he's on, are imperative.

Yet no one will credit AA. As far as I'm concerned, AA has done enough to keep this team in contention without sacrificing the future.

Without double-checking, the bench seems to have actually been improved, it's just that some of them have played too much, but that's due to the injuries. I think we all love the Reimold pickup as he could be that bat that they were missing off the bench whether to platoon with Lind or to PH. I just hope he can address SS/2B/3B without giving up the young pitching already at the MLB level or upper minors.

I agree 100%. Even in this bad stretch. The team hasn't been terrible.... and the pitching has been better then I expected. I don't think depth has been a huge issue.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Also factoring in is the schedule...96 games before the ASB, which is a lot. Are the Jays scheduled to have more games, or is it just a result of playing in a dome about 90 times a year, preventing postponed games? That said, I'm so glad the brutal west coast swing is over. It came at a really inopportune time
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
