intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I agree 100%. Even in this bad stretch. The team hasn't been terrible.... and the pitching has been better then I expected. I don't think depth has been a huge issue. They've had on and off days, but at times they have been terrible. I'd argue they're still in good shape because of the glorious May/early-June they had, in which they banked a lot of victories. Not really because they've held tight since. They've had flashes of quality, but have mostly been reeling. I think in August they'll be right back in it, though, as I think a healthy Jays team is quite scary.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 It did come at an inopportune time, but the stretch of games where they swept the Red Sox, A's, Rays and Tigers came at an incredibly opportune time. Regression. It balances itself out. Exactly. And after the break, we mostly face the dregs of the AL, and a Tanaka-less Yankees team that is headed towards last place.. with no Sabathia, Tanaka, Nova or Pineda, along with no Beltran or consistent hitting, this Yankees team will be well out of it by the end of July.
