Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Bautista is just out a couple of days and likely will avoid the DL per the stuff I've seen on twitter. That's great news. But what do we do at 3B now? Especially vs. LHP? Dare I say EE at 3B in those situations?

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Nah. Tolleson at 3rd, Kawasaki at 2nd. Eek, Kawasaki vs. LHP is bad. I'd rather take the hit on defense and have EE play it vs. LHP.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Nah. Tolleson at 3rd, Kawasaki at 2nd. If AA said last week that discussions were picking up, and he was looking at infielders...now would be a good time to make a deal. Of course, the price probably went up with Lawrie's injury. Have they given a timeframe yet? Also, im surprised that Dan Johnson wasnt called up. He can play third, and his splits are somewhat reverse.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 If Bautista cant even even pinch hit.... it's really bad. Lind is completely immobile, Bautista bad legs... Lawrie not in the defense means we have holes. Lawrie in the lineup means that Reyes doesn't have to be able to cover as much ground, which is good because he doesn't seem to be able to. Fransisco is a fence post at third. we need some good luck from the BABPIP dragon while Lawrie is healing. I don't worry about Juan's range, his problem seem to be the accuracy on his throws. Seems like it's more to do with confidence than anything else. Range wise he's not that bad to be honest.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Is melky hurt or sick? Why would he not be playing today?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Is melky hurt or sick? Why would he not be playing today? Probably just wants to give him a normal day off coupled with the full day off tomorrow. Veteran Rest.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Probably just wants to give him a normal day off coupled with the full day off tomorrow. Veteran Rest. Stupid in an important game where the lineup is already a mess, especially when he is one of few that can hit lefties. If he needs the day off sit him vs the brewers, where were facing a RHP.

flafson Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Maybe they think Buhrle can get a shut out today...

If he needs the day off sit him vs the brewers, where were facing a RHP. blame it on AA. Gibbons doesn't have any suitable back ups. this is the first time we have had extra OF options. they have gone with only 3 OF for a long time and Melky needs a day off. He should have had one a couple weeks ago, but Gibbons didn't have a 4th outfielder at that time.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Honestly, instead of sitting Melky they should just forfeit and take the day off.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 They could give everyone a day off. We're not going to win. This is one you can almost bank on. What does LV give our odds of winning? Will we have 6 AAA players starting?

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Bautista's available to pinch-hit today. Blue Jays-Official @BlueJays 1m .@JoeyBats19 speaks to media before the game. Jose says he'll be available to pinch hit today. Yes! But don't expect him back in the lineup regularly until Tuesday.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Giving Melky a day off when we have an off day tomorrow is f***ing retarded.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Giving Melky a day off when we have an off day tomorrow is f***ing retarded. Gibbons was managing the club so well in May... All of a sudden, he went full retard
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Gibbons was managing the club so well in May... All of a sudden, he went full retard Probably just a case of giving the manager too much credit during good times and vice versa during bad times. All a manager can do is to play his best players and to put them in the best situation to succeed. He isn't doing that today.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Giving Melky a day off when we have an off day tomorrow is f***ing retarded. He's only had one off day. He probably really needs a break, more than one day.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 My god. God will not help the Jays today. But pray if that makes you feel better.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 God will not help the Jays today. But pray if that makes you feel better. Yeah, the worse team never wins in baseball. Absolutely right. A+.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Probably about the home run derby...
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Maybe he will announce he has deferred the rest of his salary for this year, so we can afford another bat?? Most likely it has to do with the Tshirts he was selling for his foundation.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Maybe he got traded for Profar? CHPgate2013
Convo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Maybe he got traded for Profar? CHPgate2013 Profar....... HA... I remember the entire board wanted that trade last year. f***ING GROSS.
Convo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 probably about the home run derby... oya
