Where does Jose Bautista rank among best Blue Jay hitters of all time?

In a pitching era, Bautista had two monster years in 2010 and 2011. He followed them up with two very good years in 2012 and 2013. The numbers suggest he is having another monster season so far.

 

Where does he rank among best Blue Jay hitters of all time?

I don't think he'll end up on the level of excellence unless he somehow leads them to a WS in the next couple years. Lets see Roy Halladay make that list first before we saturate it.

 

I don't know where he ranks. I think he needs a couple full healthy seasons to surpass even Delgado who gave us 12 years, 8 of which had 30+ HR seasons.

I think he needs a couple more 150ish years.

 

I think he is the leader in terms of OPS+. The other stats probably work out about the same. I think he is behind Delgado in raw numbers ahead when adjusted for era.

 

So a couple more great seasons and he's number one. A couple more so/so seasons with injuries and it will be hard to argue because he only had 2 healthy great seasons.

ZIPS has Jose ending up with 5.2 WAR in 2014. This would mean his career Blue Jay WAR would be 28.5. There is a good chance he passes Delgado’s career Jays WAR.

He is up there with delgado, Bautista at his peak > delgado, but Delgado was better for longer so far. A few more good years he is the best ever IMO.

Bautista has been one of the best, and I think this playoff run will cement him there. If this had been another year where the Jays were on the outside looking in, Bautista probably would have been looked at as a great hitter, but not one of the all-time greats. This run is going to place him in the upper echelon of all time.

Delgado played for the Jays for 11 years, so it really seems like he contributed more. I mean, he was astoundingly good. This is Bautista's 8th season with us (and really, wow... it hasn't felt like that long, has it?), so he's not had quite the same amount of time to make his mark. I think after this season, he'll be considered one of the best the Jays have ever had. I still don't think he's quite HOF material, but, maybe after a few post season runs... who knows?

Bautista is the best without question imo. Delgado was good, but I don't recall him being as great of an offensive threat as Bautista.is great Delgado had some great years, but Bautista has had a bigger impact in a shorter time.
