GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I'm hardly despaired man, to be completely honest I've watched maybe an hour of Jays ball this entire season so far. I've found that it's much more enjoyable to be a fan of this franchise when I pay as little attention to it as possible. They have to earn back my interest/money after 20 years of sucking cocks, and a 4-game win streak that gets us back to the lofty heights of .500 ball isn't going to do it. It sucks, but I kinda have a contemptuous feeling towards this club right now as try as I might, I just cannot seperate my feelings towards Beeston and AA from the franchise as a whole. The FO needs to GTFO before I can genuinely emotionally invest in this team again. Lame
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Ken doesn't like fat players I'm assuming. It's not like teams are tripping over themselves to trade quality catchers to the Blue Jays. OMG, that baseball crazed country just got rid of Twitter catcher. Now they're looking at fat Dioner Navarro, let's deal them one of our good catchers because they're baseball crazed.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Ideally I like Francisco off the bench. He would likely see plenty of playing time through the rest of the season as a PH and backup 1B/3B. He would play 3B during inter-league games, and would be a nice insurance option if any of Lawrie, Lind (should be back anytime now) or EE hit the DL. Plus if you go with a glove guy at 2B Francisco would see a lot of PH duties late in games. Yeah, that option has a lot of merit as well. A Getz/Tolleson platoon at 2B with Francisco getting a pinch hit AB once a game would give us solid defense.

Sounds like a miserable person and fan to me.

Don't hate just because you lack options with what to do with yourself after work every day other than fusing your ass to the couch and working on growing your gut.

Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 This post is actually really funny. I see you posting here quite a bit yet you don't watch any of the games. Really? Since 1995 up til this season I prolly caught around 80% of their games, either live or on TV. If I was home and the Jays were on, I was watching. This year? Completely different. They have successfully despaired me to the point that I just can't get excited for a 20th straight season of no meaningful games past June. They have to show me something first before I invest any more of my time and money following this club. We're into year 2 of our 3-year window, boys. Question; what happens in 2016? Do they stop trying at that point because their imaginary little window has passed their arbitrary deadline? Jokes.

This is deep s*** you're throwing at me right now meng.

LOL at his pathetic strawman argument, I don't lack options, have a great job and social life, in this day and age if tablets, streaming it's not hard to catch a few games, lets not act like your the only busy person with a life on the planet idiot.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 When Lind returns, am I the only one who prefers Lawrie still at 3rd and Francisco on the bench? I also think Getz should be our 2B man as he's been playing great defense, handles the bat well and has an 83% career stolen base success rate. I like Francisco (who doesn't like a power bat).. but I don't see why there is so much love that we need to change all of our defensive set up (which has been tops in the majors) to make room for his bat when Lind returns. May I remind you that Francisco is batting .237 in his last 10 games, I know the power is nice but consistency still matters and Getz on base is just as fun to watch.

At least do this with your non-troll account man, this is just sad. And no, you are undoubtedly a friendless virgin to get so butthurt at the above reply that wasn't even directed towards you. No other explaination is possible. =)

Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 So why have you been wasting time on this site since January? Because work? None of the chicks here are worth my breath so I jack around on the innernette during my downtime. Either that or go jerk off in the washroom, that's always a good time-waster too.

Governator Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 To be fair, I gave up on the leafs 3 years ago and still haven't tuned in since... literally watching a few hours worth of hockey a season. But then again since I don't watch the games, I don't comment on them.

Meaningful games in August? Surely you jest. Haven't seen any of those in my 20 years watching this club, so that would indeed be something worth watching. I will not be holding my breath in anticipation of the realization of this miracle, however.

You can cheer a team on and be happy when they win without being overly emotionally involved.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Poor Smedley! Gets up each morning, steps on a land mine and spends the rest of the day trying to put himself back together again! I do not hate Cananda just because Steven Haper is in charge! I cheer for Canada and my Jays in spite of there management and because I can and do wish them both success! I am Canadian, and I approve of this message! Lol

There are people who think that you can't be a baseball fan if you don't agree with management. Tell that to the thousands of people who sell out Maple Leaf games every year. Toronto is a very fickle sports city.

Rooting for succcess feels like a fool's errand this year as our clueless ownership will take anything near 81 wins as a sign of improvement over last year, and this will secure another few years of this clown show Beeston regime. No faith in AA doing the right thing so long as he has that haggard mentally unstable moron looming over him. Le sigh.
