over500 Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 That's terrible to hear. RIP Kirksaw.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Late 40's, no kids that I know of, he was a woman's man, lol. Dated women half his age a lot. Lol that's awesome. RIP Kirk
CHRIS Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Sad to hear. Only had a few back-and-forths with him on the old board a while back; always carried himself well.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Horrible news. Kirk was a great guy. Always nice to everyone and even those who constantly bashed him on this board. A lot can be said about a man like that. He Passed on way too young and will surely be missed. RIP.
Convo Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Sad news to wake up to, RIP Kirkshaw.

Even though I never met the guy, he's still part of this message board family. Sad.

Even though I never met the guy, he's still part of this message board family. Sad. Yup. I didn't know him that well but I did play in a fantasy league with him and he was always a class act. He will surely be missed.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Kirk was a solid dude. That's just s*****. I hope he died in bed with one of those women half his age. (not for her sake, that would suck... but for his... die doin' what you love and all...)
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Hey, Lots of respect to you and all you contribute. Man, take it easy. I'm a big fan and a quasi outsider now but some know I was a former minor league GM and a pro umpire and work for Baseball Canada. I also scouted for the Brewers. I can't always give my sources or ppl would be pissed but I'm happy to give some info. Take my word more often ok. Yours truly, Kirk Sawyers PS. Very, very few would get this kind if private message. It's a respect thing. --- ^The first PM I got from him last year. I think I just finished ripping into him for another one of his outlandish roster move ideas. I acted like an immature little **** and he was pure class. He will be missed.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 He clearly knew people and had connections, his info was just wrong most of the time. Can't fault him for that, he was just trying to be a nice guy and share it with the board. He didn't have to do that. Class act all the way.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 He clearly knew people and had connections, his info was just wrong most of the time. If he worked for Baseball Canada than he must have known Bob Elliott.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 He did know Bob. Everyone knows bob, apparently I have him on facebook and never knew lol. Every once and awhile were reminded at how precious life really is. One second your talking baseball, and the next thing you know your time is up. I'm happy to know it looks like he went in his sleep. The board lost a good member.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Oh wow. I never knew Kirk that well, but I've always seen him post on the previous board. My condolences to his family. 50 is way too young, just awful. My prayers and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. RIP
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where do we go when we die? What lies beyond And what lay before? Is anything certain in life? They say, "life is too short," "the here and the now" And "you're only given one shot" But could there be more, Have I lived before, Or could this be all that we've got? If I die tomorrow I'd be allright Because I believe That after we're gone The spirit carries on I used to be frightened of dying I used to think death was the end But that was before I'm not scared anymore I know that my soul will transcend I may never find all the answers I may never understand why I may never prove What I know to be true But I know that I still have to try If I die tomorrow I'd be allright Because I believe That after we're gone The spirit carries on Victoria: "move on, be brave Don't weep at my grave Because I am no longer here But please never let Your memory of me disappear" Nicholas: Safe in the light that surrounds me Free of the fear and the pain My questioning mind Has helped me to find The meaning in my life again Victoria's real I finally feel At peace with the girl in my dreams And now that I'm here It's perfectly clear I found out what all of this means If I die tomorrow I'd be allright Because I believe That after we're gone The spirit carries on Hypnotherapist: "you are once again surrounded by a brilliant white light. allow the light to lead you away from your past and into this lifetime. as the light dissipates you will slowly fade back into con Sness remembering all you have learned. when I tell you to open your eyes you will return to the present, feeling peaceful and refreshed. open your eyes, nicholas."
bzapple Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Really sad news. Kirksaw contributed a lot to the board; very knowledgeable poster who always conducted himself with class. His JPA-bashing posts were pretty fun to read too RIP

He would talk about these secret sources but never give more information, and they often didn't come true. That and him always biased towards the umps lol. I didn't agree with him a lot, but respected his opinion.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Sad stuff. I remember seeing him there since the start when I started posting on the old forum. R.I.P.
vdartanian Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 RIP Kirksaw, he will be missed. Always liked the debate his posts brought, even if predictions didnt come to light all the time. Condolences go out to his family and friends.
fireballW Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 R.I.P. Would like to echo the other sentiments in this thread. I definitely gave him a hard time for his love of certain AAA/AAAA players over the years and his obsession with some of the pitchers from Pittsburgh (way before they had any decent ones). He always took it with class and knew it wasn't personal if we thought some of his ideas were outlandish. Definitely a nicer guy than almost anyone else I've met here.
BluejayEd Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Been a lurker for a few years....thats awful. My condolences.
leaffie Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 He seemed like a very nice man. "You measure your life not in the number of breaths that you take, but in the number of times you have been left breathless" I hope he had lots of those moments. Rip
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Just seeing a bunch of posts on Facebook saying Kirksaw has passed.....apparently heart attack. Sorry to hear that. Thanks for letting us know.
Ehh Verified Member Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Didn't know who the guy was, but R.I.P. Always sad to lose a fellow Jays fan.
