fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 Just like the fatcow of old. I think you should put this in your sig. Hahaha it would have been more of old me had it not converted the uppercases to lowercases
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I actually like the Yankees now. Every year people come up with reasons why they're down and out, and every year they keep on keeping on. Much respect. I don't like the Yankees, but I don't really hate them anymore. I'll always loathe the f***ing Red Sox and their delusional fans, though.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 They haven't added Infante and Colon yet. You're right. That'll do it.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Yankees now have an outfield of ichiro,Ellsbury,Beltran with Soriano at DH, so where does that leave Gardner? Bench I guess is the most likely option I guess he always seemed like he could be a starter to me I don't know why anyone would see Gardner as the odd-man out in an outfield that employs Ichiro. Think it's a pretty easy decision, you go with an outfield of LF-Ellsbury, CF-Gardner, RF-Soriano (Beltran as DH) and have Ichiro as a utility off the bench in the role that Jones/Ibanez played a couple seasons ago, or you just get rid of him. Beltran makes a lot more sense than Soriano at DH especially when you want to rest his 75 year old Rey Mysterio knees. So, another draft pick they have to give away, looks like they are aiming for some record. They probably felt more comfortable with it, since they got one back today off Cano. I want Infante!! So do I. More than what is considered acceptable within the limits of being straight. man, we are gonna suck foreverftfy ftfy
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 So do I. More than what is considered acceptable within the limits of being straight. LOL. I hope the Yankees fear the Luxury Tax and won't go for him. Can we trade Reyes+ to the M's for Franklin somehow? Franklin/Infante will be a much cheaper and better middle infield

Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Seattle has to have at least a couple more big moves to come.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I wonder what the M's would be looking at from us for Franklin. Gose would look pretty good roaming that giant OF and Jack Z has a thing for speed. I'm thinking they'll go Walker + Franklin + smaller piece for Price, and then TB might flip Frank immediately. Seattle is looking for bankable wins, I doubt they'd be overly interested in Gose.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I wonder what the M's would be looking at from us for Franklin. Gose would look pretty good roaming that giant OF and Jack Z has a thing for speed. I suspect the cost would be rather high (and likely won't matter since he'll probably go to TB anyhow). Still really nice to dream about. (I kept trying to find something that he might ask for, but closest I can think of might be Gose + Lind for Franklin and Smoak.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Not sure what I think of that. Franklin is the most valuable piece there, but both Gose and Lind are important pieces for the 2014 roster as things stand. AA would need to sign a capable backup CF and probably some insurance on Smoak who is probably inferior to Lind offensively next year. Yeah, it would be tough. I don't know what I'd think of it either, but that seems like the kind of return it might take - especially with 1st base bats flying off the FA list. I think it would be worth it.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 i got the yankees at about 187.5 mill with a-rod and all there arbitration eligible guys. It's 161.5mill without a-rod they need a bunch of bullpen guys and probably another starter.

It would be so hilarious if they skimped the rest of the offseason to just squeak in under the cap, then had someone trigger a forgotten about bonus at the end of the season...

There's talent there, but there's a lot of risk there too Yeah, if everything goes right they could be deadly, but that's asking a lot especially of aging guys. I also don't like their rotation very much.

Then unless they pretty much stand pat with their current rotation, they're most certainly out on Choo barring some significant trades to free up salary

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 A simple call to Mr. Selig and another big contract can come off the books. #GottaLoveTheWitchhunts This is why I will never support a system that allows teams to get out of contracts if a player tests positive for PEDs. There'd be way too much incentive for teams to sign huge contracts, then if the contract starts to go albatross, spike the guys powerade and make a call to the drug test office, slips few bucks in the right pockets and boom, money off the books. Letting teams void contracts for PED use should never, ever be part of a deterant
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 We litterally are f***ed. AA is dillusional to think that we have any chance at competing. Get your heads outta your asses and accept the fact that this "all in" thing didnt work. We are going to come last for years to come if we don't do anything about it.
