I can't believe people are watching that filth. What the hell is wrong with people?

The fat Greek sits and watches

JPR was three times the manager the AA is. All the good players we still have he acquired

The fat Greek has failed us at every turn

You should be posting on the official Jays forum, you would make sense there.

I think 7/140 for Fielder really isnt bad. At least for the next 4-5years I'm sure he will be worth it plus some. Yes, he had a down year at the plate but he has done that occasion throughout his career. He has some of the most raw power in all of baseball and he can hit too. It's not the obvious decline some people make it out to be. The other myth with Fielder is people say its bad to sign him long term cause he's fat. Guy is as durable as anyone in the league. Fielder is likely to have an Ortiz like career (just lesser numbers because Ortiz has always been a heavy juicer)

So the Tigers basically pay $76 million for two years of Fielder. Wise decision.

It was a terrible contract before the ink dried, but should they have continued throwing good money after bad?

Argo's vs ticats game was great....football is a great sport...action packed back and forth excitement of the CFL is a yummy banana split..what's not to like...and the game day experience is fantastic....ok...I go to Rider games...maybe the argos game day experience is not so great..lol

Football is a great sport, but I'm not sure what that has to do with the CFL.

I guess if you live in Saskatchewan I could understand, since you'll never sniff an actual pro sports team.

I think a better way of looking at it is 23 mil per season for 2 years of Fielder and the contract fielder signed allowed them to get kinsler for another 4 years at 23 mil per season....they do have a 7 mil option on kinsler for a 5th year though.....not exactly great value either way you look at it...

yes...because the CFL has zero talent...I get it..lol. I prefer the rules in the cfl....it's a better game. I went to sold out labour day game with 45k fans..I guess that doesn't qualify as a professional sport...but whatever it was...it was pretty entertaining and I had fun.

Sure.

Talking to someone from Saskatchewan about the CFL is one of the most surreal things out there.

I will give you that it is fun to go to games I go to 1-2 bombers games per year and granted I am usually f***ed I have a good time.

I love watching quick 2 and outs... much better game.

The Riders had 18 2 and outs all season...that's an average of one per game...lol. It's really hard to have a CFL discussion with people who never watch it...but you're right..the passion in Saskatchewan is like no other...game day experience here is fantastic....but there are good fans in Calgary, Winnipeg, bc, montreal, hamiton, Edmonton....as well...

bombers had great crowds all year, and have a good fan base....as long as the stadium is packed, its a nice summer day...it's a fun affordable outing...it's a shame the bombers didn't compete better.....but that will turn around..the cfl is a league of parity...

I'm from MB and I'll watch the occasional bomber game. Always watch the Gray Cup with the fam. I just don't understand how anyone can say its a better game than the NFL rules.

A bit off topic, but the no yards rule is the stupidest rule in ANY SPORT. I think the fair catch rule could be tightened up as well, but no yards is just plain dumb.

Everyone has their opinions...I like three down football with extra space allowing for more passing, and more big plays....some prefer the NFL game...it's personal preference...

Jays should have done something like this? Dump a bad contract in a Buehrle for a Fielder type? Allows them to trade a Bautista or Encarnacion for a top starter and decent catcher without great loss in power? Buehrle is more like a #4 starter on good team, he's not much as a #2 starter in tough AL East. The 30 million Tigers gave up would lower Fielder's contract to 20 million, Buehrle scheduled to make 18+19 million next 2 years. Not much difference.

Fielder would hit 50+ homers at Rogers. Be primary a DH though.

You have to find the right fit for both teams though, which is why it worked for the Rangers and Tigers. If we wanted to do this with Buehrle, the analogy would probably have to be with the Angels for Pujols or Hamilton or something (and I'd rather have two more years of Buehrle than either of them).

Can you imagine if the CFL played with that big field, extra player and FOUR downs? Teams would put up basketball scores.

you're probably right...there's a reason there is only 3 downs..lol. My Riders are going to the cup because of that formidable defense that allowed a league low 22 points a game.....Ticats going down on Sunday!!!!

I'm fine with a good thread hijack, but hijacking a baseball thread to discuss the CFL should result in IP bans.

Even though I participated in the thread hijack only to s*** on the CFL, I support this.

it started out as a baseball related topic using the cfl as a reference point to determine blue jay tv revenue....and evolved from there...it is grey cup week...and as the lone cfl fan here I guess I enjoy cfl discussion...there were people responding to my cfl comments..lol. I will speak no further on the cfl in this thread..but seriously....why you guys love banning people so much..

fire AA...there...am I back on solid ground..lol

Can you imagine the scoring if the NFL end zone was as big as the CFL's??? What Calvin Johnson could do in that thing...
