A grinder is someone who always keeps on working - won't stop or give up. He grinds the workouts, puts in extra hours, extra bp etc...

He said grinding not grinder. I provided an example of Derosa saying grinder. Plus "I'm no doctor" is not proper English. There's no way Dickey would speak like that.

This player must be dumber than a sack of s***, it's rather obvious that key players were shut down early to avoid unnecessary winning. It pays to tank in this CBA. If you aren't going to make the playoffs, it behooves you to be as bad as possible to get a larger signing pool and a higher pick.

Like it or not, some sense of comradery is beneficial within a clubhouse. Vetrin presents isn't everything, but I do think many on this board undervalue the effect that it can have. Having your teammates dip out in the last few weeks of the season surely doesn't leave a good taste in the mouths of everyone else who stuck through.

 

Now its different if these guys were instructed to leave to do rehab elsewhere, but I highly doubt they ALL were.

Another guy who wasn't there till the end was Rajai with his wife haveing a baby. Also I'm pretty sure it was JPA, he"ll do anything to try and get people on his side. There was also the comment he made when the Dirk and Zaun saga happened, was somethiing like those guys aren't ever around the team. Which he was referring to being at batting practice and in the clubhouse, which seems very similar.

Couldn't it be possible that after spending the whole season with the team a lot of the guys picked up on the words used by other players. I.e. JPA picking up Derosa using the word 'grinder'.

 

I can't see it being Derosa or Dickey. Neither seem like the type to hide comments. My money is on either MB or JPA.

I'm always for players getting their injuries diagnosed, addressed & getting immediate surgery or the proper care for them. So if it means these guys are wherever they are rehabbing and not with the Jays on the final weekend then great.
