DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Good news. Probably part of the reason why they are taking a hard look at Lawrie at 2B. Offers Gibbons versatility on the field and, AA on the market.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 No Utley or Garza great Yes, great Jays need to get younger
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Castellanos or Avisail here we go
mitchf Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Yeah not until a SMART GM get a hold of Alex at the deadline and starts telling him some tale about teams that make the playoffs despite being out at the deadline. Alex will then do what we all expect and trade Sanchez for Beltran.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Anyone want to take a flier on Ackley?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Good Would be stupid to do so But make an upgrade if you can
KSaw Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Unlikely = Definitely? AA always tips his hand right?
Buster Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Trade Janssen and whatever for the best 3b/2b prospect available on a contender.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Trade Janssen and whatever for the best 3b/2b prospect available on a contender. Trade Janssen for the best return period. Ridding this team of $4M salary for 2014, plus acquiring a cheap asset is what this team needs to do.

I agree, we have a tonne of great bullpen arms, it makes sense.

The RHP depth behind Janssen right now: Delabar, Wagner, McGowan and Santos. Delabar would be next in line for closer, Santos has done it in the past and if he can stay healthy would probably be next in line after Delabar. McGowan and Wagner also could be options, but lets see a larger sample size first. Seems like Janssen could go and the pen should get by just fine without him.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 add Stilson and Carreno Yeah they should be solid depth pieces in the minors to start the year.

ace3113 Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Players who can help beyond this year, like Dickey:p

Our team will be full of hard throwing pitchers ( Steve Delabar program) and Knuckleball pitchers lol
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Dying to know what AA has up his sleeve in terms of 3B...... clearly there's something brewing.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Dying to know what AA has up his sleeve in terms of 3B...... clearly there's something brewing. Given all the horrible moves and decisions of the last 12 months or so, it's likely that they're moving Lawrie to 2B for Izturis. Gibbons mentioned that they want to take advantage of Lawrie's range so maybe there won't even be a move made. Anyway, if there's a move, say good bye to maybe all of Stroman, Sanchez, Osuna, Jimenez, Nolin, etc. I know it seems crazy, but look at how much AA's been overpaying by and this doesn't seem so farfetched.

Did you not read the title? AA "BlueJays unlikely to deal for a rental"
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Did you not read the title? AA "BlueJays unlikely to deal for a rental" Where did I mention a rental? Besides, why would AA announce to the baseball world that he's gonna get a rental? All I said was that if there's a move for a 3B, they'll probably overpay based on the overpayments of the last 12 months.

I'm scared what's AA going to overpay for after Dickey and Happ failures

Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Since when does AA do what he says? I don't believe it until I see it
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Great news! Thank god no more JA Happ or Dickey trade! Neither of those were technically "rentals"... So let's hope no trades like those even if they're not rentals!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Dying to know what AA has up his sleeve in terms of 3B...... clearly there's something brewing. I'm kinda liking the idea of a trade for Chase Headley with an extension built in...
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Stroman + Lawrie + Osuna? No thanks.
