  1. He wouldn't. He walked away from 14 million for this year. Think more 4/50. Now ask why he's still available.
  2. The reports on what Boras has been seeking are so all over the place, who knows what to believe at this point? It's even been suggested that the Mets have a deal ready the second the draft gets past the first round and for at least 5 years beyond 2014. The popular rumor was that he'd do a 4-year deal with the Jays and with the money back loaded to years 3 and 4 but only with an opt out clause that could be exercised at the end of this season. That would mean if he was injured or terrible, we'd be stuck with him and if he had a big year, he'd opt out and for big money, with no compensation.
  3. I'm personally going to predict that Williams is first. His glove and speed play as a bench option outfielder and Gose and Pillar can get at bats in Buffalo. Sanchez second. He just looks so good and the current staff looks so fragile.
  4. I feel better after Morrow's performance in Montreal. Still concerned that Buehrle has stunk for the first five weeks of every season since his 31st birthday.
  5. And I know that this is off topic but it does touch on Vancouver getting an NBA team. I'll try to get this right. This was on ESPN last week. A vision for the post Stern NBA... Boston/ New York/ Brooklyn/ Philadelphia/ London/ Paris Detroit/ Chicago/ Indiana/ Milwaukee/ Toronto/ Cleveland Miami/ Orlando/ Washington/ Charlotte/ Atlanta/ New Orleans ------------------- Minnesota/ Dallas/ Houston/ OKC/ St. Louis/ San Antonio Utah/ Portland/ Seattle/ Vancouver/ Denver/ ??? LA Lakers/ LA Clippers/ Sacramento/ Golden State/ Phoenix/ Las Vegas Their question mark discussion covered New Mexico, Honolulu and San Jose and the idea of Memphis keeping their team, replacing OKC in one division and OKC filling the question mark. Kansas City in would do the same and OKC would fill the question mark slot. But they were pretty sure that the NBA will leave Memphis. If this scenario is anywhere close to what the league is thinking, they almost need Vancouver.
  6. Better chance of getting the NBA to return. They want into London, Paris, Las Vegas, St. Louis and now that Stern is gone, back into Seattle. Kansas City and Vancouver have been tossed around too. Let's face it, even with them wanting out of Memphis, they're still going to end up with at least a 34 team league pretty soon and it'll probably be 36. Vancouver has a shot. With MLB-- 0% CHANCE!
  7. Let's be realistic here. If the A's can't do anything with Oakland, San Jose or revisit Freemont, they will go to Portland. Rays' ownership will keep trying to get out of St. Pete's and into Tampa or a surrounding county but SS's dream is a team in New Jersey at the Meadowlands. The Mets and Yankees would need sweetheart deals but let's not kid ourselves, that's his dream for the Rays. Montreal wins if St. Pete's continues to screw them and NJ can't be made to happen. Even then, beating out Charlotte would become the final hurdle. I'm ignoring Hartford, Indy and Louisville. They just aren't happening.
  8. I heard 33,000 and another 2,500 VIP box seating. All rounded numbers. Proposals are always nice but are nothing more until a deal is done.
  9. I see Burns as the most intriguing prospect, not best but interesting. He just looks like he can be useful fast. He can't stick at third base and make it up but he was a shortstop and has played a little second base. He's not a plus defender at any position but can spot play everywhere in the infield. He either shifts to 2b and makes a run at a job or picks up an outfielder's glove and makes himself an all round utility option.
  10. Kenny Wilson Andy Burns Marcus Stroman John Stilson Aaron Sanchez Deck McGuire Barring injury, all but maybe Deck should see time with Toronto at some point this year. Who will be first?
  11. Just a few days ago I probably would have said 76 or 77. I'm going with 88. First time in history one game influenced me so much but Morrow looked so good in Montreal that I was blown away. Morrow healthy and nasty is a difference maker. I was already factoring addition by subtraction with Arencibia gone. I see hope.
  12. Buy stock in green tea now! Lol. It increases the body's natutal HGH. Someone will figure out how to zap green tea's affect levels.
  13. The record is 115,300. The previous record was 93,103. Both were the Dodgers hosting games in the L.A Memorial Coliseum.
  14. And they become the Arizona Coyotes next year. Still just a placeholder because the second an arena deal finally gets done in Vegas, they will become the Las Vegas Coyotes. The NBA will jump in there fast too.
  15. Has to be sincere. Good depth move.
  16. Go to the old board and do a search. I warned about Arencibia prior to his ever coming up in 2010. I heavily criticized his fielding in early 2011 and took a ton of heat, not from all but many people. By the end of 2011 there were at least 7-10 posters who had given up in him as a catcher. On Opening Day 2012 the JPA Egregious Tracking Thread began!
  17. You know that someone is going to start a, "JPA Egregiously Bad - Everything is Bigger in Texas Tracker" thread.
  18. Lol no. Just an observation. Clearly he's a pitcher with unrealized talent, who is past his best before date. He did flash his better stuff in those WBC Q games. Is what it is.
  19. 949-760-0188 Scott Boras Client: Stephen Drew
  20. I laugh at hearing Steam Whistle sucks. Considering that it's almost an exact replica recipe to original Pilsner beer, with no additives or preservatives, and isn't a unique flavoured beer, just say, "I don't like Pilsners." I will say this though-- every Steam Whistle that comes out of a glass front fridge tastes horrible. Vendors need a clue. Beer in clear or green bottles goes bad in a matter of hours when exposed to light.
  21. Bedard as a swing man in Buffalo to keep guys on their start dates as Toronto calls up and sends guys down? Naw. Erik wouldn't take that roll. Hill's roll will be as a guy who protects other arms, without taking a 40-man roster spot.
  22. Hill looked really good in those WBC qualifying games for Canada. Very good late movement. Nothing to lose here and Buffalo could use a swing man considering the likelihood of Toronto often recalling pitchers.
  23. Had to throw in something BOLD!!! LOL. Though I do see it as possible but for like a game or two and then a DFA and another call up.
  24. -Rasmus hits 35+ HR -Dickey pitches 10+ complete games -Tomo Ohka get called up during the season -At least 5 different players start a game at 2b for the Jays this year -At least different 13 pitchers start a game for the Jays -Lind puts up an OBP above .290 v left handed pitching
