Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 That's interesting. I assumed based on rumors and some front office stuff that there was no chance he would resign here. Now I'm kind of wondering if they may be able to resign him in the offseason and basically just rented him for a bunch of 1st rounders.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 That's the best goodbye to Toronto letter I've ever read.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 I think OKC might be the best team to watch right now in the NBA.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Curious. 20 years from now, will we consider Wemby to be a better player than Tim Duncan? What about David Robinson?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Curious. 20 years from now, will we consider Wemby to be a better player than Tim Duncan? What about David Robinson? NOt sure, like many sports its really hard to compare players in different eras. Especially the NBA now where more and more big men are 3pt threats rather than the slow, plodding, post up players they were in years past.

Pretty crazy the Spurs already have had 2 of the best big men of all-time and may have a 3rd generational player on their hands.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Hawks win the lottery and will pick 1st. Raptors drop down from 6 to 8 and subsequently hand the pick over to the Spurs.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Hawks win the lottery and will pick 1st. Raptors drop down from 6 to 8 and subsequently hand the pick over to the Spurs. Oof. Where were they protected to?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 If the drop made them lose it, you’ll find plenty of the “rigged people” out in force on that. Trying to build around Wemby to make them a National watch more often
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Oof. Where were they protected to? The went in at 6, they were Top 6 protected.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 The went in at 6, they were Top 6 protected. Yeah probably not rigged, but fortunate for SA
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 Pop is kind of worn out for me. Could be the liberal stuff of course. But I think he’s kind of run his time out and wish he’d kind of go away. SA may become a better watch too. Even in their day, they were always objectively a boring team to watch.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 The Denver/Minny game was incredible tonight. Those who say the NBA sucks now compared to the good old days are just nuts. The talent, excitement and entertainment is unreal good.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Maybe because he’s such a Lib, but also bc he comes off as such a pretentious bitch, I’m not a Mark Cuban fan. Doncic is really great to watch, playing wise, but he’s also such a whiny baby too. I didn’t watch this last game, but just in general. At least LBJ is an all time great. Play a few more years before you need to stop playing to cry to the refs.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 RIP, Bill Walton. Whatever he died from, Spanky should get checked out. I’m referring to their mutual love for the funny stuff

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 He died from #f***cancer Ah well, it was a Spanky joke. Walton seemed like a genuine dude you could talk to at McDonalds or something. I mean, a legit hippy in the good sense of the word.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Jrue Holiday really fit Boston like a glove. Difference between talented team and champion. Tatum 6-22 and and him and Brown 1-12 on threes but they win again. Kyrie getting handled so far.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 The Pistons just made Cade Cunningham a VERY rich man
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 The Pistons just made Cade Cunningham a VERY rich man Basketball is crazy. Like I know OG Aununoby is a good player on both sides of the ball.. but $212m over 5 years…sheesh 14/4/2 and good D. $40+m

Rosters are small to begin with, and if you're one of the top players in a teams starting five, you're cashing in big.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 If anyone wants to purchase a package of 5 or 10 Raptors games for this upcoming season, shoot me a DM.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Can I get the game where Bronny James come to town???
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Can I get the game where Bronny James come to town??? Do you guys have a G league affiliate? lol
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Can I get the game where Bronny James come to town??? I don't have Raptors 905 tickets haha. But yeah I'm okay with adding a premium game in a package.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Grady Dick. Legit? So far, so good. He certainly looks like he's able to score at this level. He's the current front runner for "most improved". I've also been impressed with Barrett and Poeltl. Barrett looks like a franchise player and Poeltl very strong big. Agbaji looks like he's taken a step forward, Mogbo has looked good, Shead has shown glimpses too. All things considered, the Raps have given me a reason to at least tune in, while they deal with all these injuries. I do hope they have some pieces there. They should add a top lottery pick this year and if they "hit", they could be back on the way up faster than folks anticipate. C - Poeltl PF - Barnes SF - Barrett SG - Dick PG - IQ Bench - Agbaji, Walter, Mogbo, Shead, Mitchell "Hit" on a Top 5 pick next year and they could be cooking with oil fairly quick.

It certainly looks like they have some individual pieces that could be very useful longer term. That said, they're playing like individuals. Defensively abysmal overall. They'll need to really commit to that part of their game if they want to take any meaningful steps forward over the next couple of seasons.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
