Gasol has been amazing in this series. I think there should be no doubt to the prudence of that trade.

Kawhi with 0 jumpshots made and 6 turnovers. This was the game Orlando had to win.

Watching Gasol defend is actually a joy. He’s shut down Vooch and gets so many good contests, hands in passing lanes, etc. I thought he would provide more scoring but his defence and play facilitation is incredible.

This one might be a laugher. The Raps D is toit and Kawhi is on fire.

Only half time.. Still lot's of time for Lowry to turn it over, airballs, fouls and injuries...

It's such a delight to watch this guy play.

Weird sets to start the 2nd half though .... looks like they're playing in quicksand.

This is also about the time the whistles should all start to favour the losing team

Kawhi is taking a steamy dump over Orlando. Vucevic might be reconsidering his NBA career on the bench lol. Gasol has totally zoned him out.

11 point lead as I type this. People are acting like they're up 40. If they lose this game the mods need to bad you shitstains for a year.

Lol we are clearly outclassing them. They have Aaron Gordon playing well and that's it. Any time they try to draw closer the Raps have an answer. If we lose it'll be on the basis of a choke job, because through three quarters we have been by far the better team.

Seriously, why does Lowry even try to shoot 3s He passes the ball 2 ft on offence, cant hit a 3 to save his life and turns over the ball.. Start playing other teams and he is going to screw us..

He's a career 37% three point shooter and by far our best distributor. Wtf are you on about?

Is this game on a Canadian broadcast or is it like the baseball playoffs and you are watching TNT?

I'm watching on TSN which has the Raptors' usual home crew.

The TNT announcers are pointing it out, and I agree. " Another ill advised 3 point attempt by Lowry.. Turn over by Lowry...

Lowry in the playoffs is not the same as regular season Lowry.. He had a good steal and a few good plays the other night.. Then there are also bonehead plays or failure to execute at key moments in playoff games.. I just dont' trust him in the playoffs against a really good team.

This is only the 2nd season he's been with the Raptors where he wasn't in the top 20 in VORP or Win Shares (he was 38th overall in VORP this year). He's been treated terribly by Raps fans over the years for a guy that has been a top 20 guy throughout his time with us. Now that he's on the bad side of the aging curve (32 is like 36 in baseball terms) and is drop to "just a top 50" player, we are really going to hear it. I say f*** you to the Lowry haters.

Lowry's personality is hard to like. Moody as f*** all the time. Now, I don't need a player to be likable to appreciate him on the court...but I refer to you Marcus Stroman to see how a grating personality impacts the love he gets from a fanbase.

If you can honestly say that Lowry's shot selection isn't a complete disaster at times I don't know what you're watching.

He's a bulldog on the court.

He's a gamer.

He's tough.

There is good and bad to Kyle Lowry.

And, to your point, he's getting older...his performance is already starting to deteriorate.

I don't know what you're watching, Lowry has actually improved his shot selection from his gunner days. He has almost completely eliminated the innefficiant mid range 2pt jump shot from his game (thank you analytics) and almost exclusively shoots from 3 or inside the paint. Don't conflate missing 3s with poor shot selection as some of the moronic color commentators still profess ad nauseam.

Those shots where he runs it up the court, pulls up 6 feet in front of the 3-pt line...and jacks up a shot with 20 seconds still remaining on the shot clock? Ya...he still does that. Not all the time...but enough that it's noticeable. And yes...his shot selection has improved overall...but he still slips into that jack up shot from anywhere mentality from time to time.

That's a really good shot in today's NBA. Transition threes are really valuable, and he's a good enough shooter to make that a valuable shot for the team. Lowry is elite at increasing the pace of the offense, which is what the league is all about nowadays, get a bunch of shots off and prevent the opponent from doing the same.

You've never watched Curry play, have you?

If you can make the shot at a high clip, and are wide open, it's not a bad shot. When he chooses to do it, it's also often with the defense not set and one or two guys with him who have a legit chance for an offensive rebound if he misses.

The shot clock doesn't matter, that's old school thinking. Teams take as much or as little of it as they need to get a good, high percentage shot (unless it's late in the game and you need to eat it).

Kyle Lowry is not Steph Curry. I agree that a shot isn't bad if you show that you can make it consistently...and I don't have the numbers to back it up, but it doesn't feel like he can make that shot consistently enough to warrant taking it as often as he does.
