Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Does this FO not see what they have been running out in the outfield the last 3 weeks? Get a couple of outfielders for cheap that can impact this team immediately (Revere,Schafer) then this team will be in good shape. that is true it appears that they like to wait for injuries to recover (saunders/bautista) and will ride out that problem
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Pretty sure I'd fully commit to either the Dodgers or Rays should this franchise trade Norris before Sanchez. Don't let the door hit you on the ass.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 that is true it appears that they like to wait for injuries to recover (saunders/bautista) and will ride out that problem They already said they don't expect Saunders to recover fully until next year. So just by that analysis i would expect him to be replacement level or below. They need an upgrade and Ruben seems to hate Revere. Milwaukee hasn't been playing Schafer very much this year so they might not be high on him.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Daniel Norris + Angrioter for Melancon
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Don't let the door hit you on the ass. Are you advocating for the trade of Norris for a reliever?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 a significant arm like Chapman from the Reds for instance?? Only if they send over Cueto as well.
43211234 Verified Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 or Blair has connections with the Blue Jays and has years of baseball experience either way...... Blair is a moron who makes s*** up all the time.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I'd be okay trading for Norris but I wouldn't do it for a bullpen arm. Chapman might be the only guy I'd do it for and even that it'd be tough. But a dominant Closer is not a need for this team. I mean hasn't Cecil only gotten like 2 Save opportunities in the last month anyway? Move Osuna to closer and Cecil back to being a high leverage reliever would seem to be a better move. You save Osuna's arm more and get more opportunities for your best relief pitcher. Then trade Norris for a starter/outfielder.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Dalton Pompey batting 8th for Buffalo. Is his confidence that bad?
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) Dalton Pompey batting 8th for Buffalo. Is his confidence that bad? Prob just giving him some tough love if he hasn't made any adjustments. He was really pulling off balls in the mlb and was leaving him open to the change up away. Also he wasn't taking charge in CF which he needs to do or he's going to get people killed. Edited June 2, 2015 by Frenchsoup

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Franklin Barreto is damn good ---> http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150603&content_id=128152328&fext=.jsp&vkey=stock_watch&sid=milb
Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 We got raped by Oakland. sounds like he may not like to work in the off season. not good for a guy who may not be athletic enough to stick at SS
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 If Barreto turns into something then I'll simply be happy for Oakland because every other aspect is a big win for Toronto. Guys who excel on both sides of the ball, have multiple years of control and don't cost a fortune shouldn't never be available in the first place.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 So you're saying they should be available? aww f***... I couldn't think of a good way to write that sentence so of course in the process of editing I end up with something that makes no sense at all. The point is that it's pretty hard to overpay for a player with Donaldson's qualities.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 aww f***... I couldn't think of a good way to write that sentence so of course in the process of editing I end up with something that makes no sense at all. The point is that it's pretty hard to overpay for a player with Donaldson's qualities. It wasn't an overpay but the idea is to win.. It just seems people are jumping the gun here... Donaldson had a great 2 months... 2 months from now he could cool down, Lawrie and Gravemen could be hot, Oakland could be back in it, Baretto could be one of the best prospects in baseball... Oakland could be set for the next 4 years and the Blue Jays could have the most disfunctional franchise in baseball. My feeling is Donaldson is going to rip his teamates and management when the Jays are 15 games out and he's playing at an MVP level... The Clemens years were kind of dreary... except for one month at the end of 98 when Tim Johnson told war stories and got the boys playing good for 1 month... Then Clemens demanded a trade... and it was kind of like... what the f*** happened the last 2 years?? I've got a feeling the Donaldson years will be viewed the same.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 So you're saying they should be available? Well the question is why was he available?? I have a feeling were gonna see Donaldson get pretty pissed in 6 weeks time if the team is completely out of it and he's wasting an MVP season in nowhere land,.
metafour Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Well the question is why was he available?? He was available because Billy Beane is bipolar and likes to blow his roster up every other year. Who cares. Great trade for us, the fact that you are trying to stretch some sort of negative angle out of it is borderline absurd.

Donaldson is having a MVP year, and still 3 years of control after this one. He could easily be flipped for even bigger return than what we gave up. His value has gone up, while Lawrie's is going down each day he proves he is nothing but an average player.
