I don't disagree that there are enough possible signings to plug a non-putrid arm in the rotation or one with upside. However, replacing him with a somewhat predictable arm (decent track record, decent age, not coming off a major injury) that can plug innings (180-200IP) is no easy task and doesn't typically come cheap.
As you said, many of these pitchers wouldn't be considered as 'reliable' or have the same track record as Bassitt, and some are clearly on the wrong side of their career (Lynn, Gibson). Others might not be interested in signing with Toronto.
It's not 'easy' replacing Bassitt, but I'm on the same page. Sell, sell, sell, if you can get premium value for him.
