  1. I read somewhere that despite the Jays lacking left hand relievers, they have some right handers with strong numbers against left handed batters. Someone here probably knows.
  2. I'm reliever greedy. I'd still like to see Britton and/or Reyes brought in somehow. I don't know if either of those guys will get an MLB deal having missed last season, but boy would it be great to get them on MiLB deals with invite to spring training.
  3. Love this. How nice will it be around August when we're all probably clamoring for some bullpen help at the trade deadline, to have Chad f***ing Green waiting in the wings about to return?
  4. I really like this signing.
  5. Manoah had 17 innings pitched at low A, then because of COVID didn't pitch in any games in 2020. Despite that the Jays still placed him in AAA to start 2021 and after only 18 innings he went straight to the bigs. The Jays weren't f***ing around with Tiedemann either last season. Promoted him through three levels at 19 years old, and he dominated at every one of them. If he dominates again to start this season I could easily see the Jays bringing him up by June or so. One big difference though between now and 2021 when they brought Manoah up right away, is the rotation is currently waaaay better on paper than it was back then. But if they have a starter struggling and Tiedemann is dominating, I have no doubt they'll bring him up.
  6. By the end of this season hopefully Dasan Brown and Gabriel Martinez are in AAA or at least lighting up AA. Means they'll be close and possibly be ready to contribute to the Jays in 2024.
  7. The Jays (somewhat) depleted prospect pool is not a surprise. Look at how many prospects they've graduated and traded over the last 5 seasons. And the funny thing is, the ones they've graduated have turned into decent to great MLB contributors, while I've yet to see any of the ones they traded provide anything of value at the MLB level yet. Of course, the jury is still out on a few of them, Moreno especially, but I'd say the Jays FO has done a great job of keeping the keepers and trading the rest for actual MLB talent.
  8. Rosenthal claiming the Jays have interest in Britton. If he's healthy and has that sinker working he would be a great fit. Especially being a lefty and also with the new outfield dimensions at Rogers. With guys like Britton, Reyes and Rosenthal still kicking around out there as free agents, definitely some low risk high reward potential.
  9. So we're about to be bombarded with a ton of stupid threads and a lot of broken English?
  10. Haha I think you forgot one very important word. Luckily you didn't forget the 'w' otherwise one might think you been mastering your kegels
  11. I think just Vladdy, Bo and Swanson left for arb
  12. I must be on glue. I thought the Padres inked Soto to an extension after they traded for him.
  13. I haven't dug into the numbers but I'm pretty sure Gausman got f***ed by the Jays offense as well as the defense. Seemed like they really struggled to score runs for the guy for some reason.
  14. Not necessarily. Depends on his work ethic. I don't know Vladdy or what he's like or what his habits are. The Jays FO should have a pretty good idea whether or not he'll work his ass off to stay in shape or if he's likely to let himself go after getting that juicy contract. It would also depend on what kind of offers you can get if you were to shop him.
  15. I don't think anyone is saying Vlad will quit playing baseball, what is concerning is whether or not he will stay in some semblance of shape, well some shape other than round that is. The guy has zero metabolism in his early 20's. Imagine him trying to be worth $30+ million per season wen he's waddling around at 300lbs + in his late 20's early 30's
  16. They might just be planning on using Kirk/Jansen 50/50 to keep them both as fresh as possible, and instead of DHing guys like Kirk/Vladdy/Springer on their days off from the field, maybe they just give them an actual day off.
  17. 1.3 fWAR from a bench player making near league minimum is f***ing awesome. Especially when he provides above average offensive & defensive value as well as playing multiple positions.
  18. I voted about the same. If Vlad goes back to being a ~160 wRC+ / 6+ fWAR player it will be better. I think the bench is better already, and I think they will still add another OF with a RHB which will improve it even more.
  19. If by some chance Thompson bumps Kikuchi from the 5th starter spot, I would expect Kikuchi to move to the bullpen considering how good he looked there last season couple with the fact that the jays only have one MLB lefty reliever.
  20. Why DFA Merryweather instead of Thornton?
  21. Solid depth with options to have in Buffalo.
  22. I'm a little surprised we're this deep into the off season with only Mayza as a left handed bullpen arm.
  23. Man, a healthy Belt could just mash in Rogers. Might as well sign another starter, outfielder and bullpen arm now that we're into luxury tax territory.
