  1. 21/22 Manoah Ryu Green Pretty good trade deadline acquisitions without giving up prospects haha
  2. Let's say Manoah actually regains his 21/22 form. Then Ryu comes back and is actually....good. Do you run with a 6 man rotation or do you put Kikuchi in the pen like last year, let him dominate again? Imagine if all that happened PLUS Green came back and was his usual effective self. Could go on a run in the second half.
  3. I wonder if they let Orelvis continue to marinate in AA or if they bump him up to AAA soon? He's been mashing for 2 months now.
  4. Hard to decide what the Jays really need, with Manoah potentially working his way back, plus Ryu and Green in the hopper as well. Lots of intriguing BP arms in AA and AAA too, so it's hard to justify spending to bring in another reliever when he might end up being a piece of useless s*** (see: Hand, Brad) It'd be nice to get a power bat that might ignite the rest of the power laying dormant in this line up right now. Not sure who though, or what position you should target. Might be a year to just sit on your hands and not waste assets.
  5. Holy f*** imagine getting swept by the red sox again... Please don't do it Jays
  6. 7-19 vs AL east 38-20 vs the rest
  7. Haha yeah man I just saw. Yikes
  8. Apparently Manoah got f***en hammered in the FCL today. 2 IP, 5 hits, 1 HR, 5 earned, 1 BB, 2 Ks Ooooooooooof Guy might be cooked, i mean...that certainly won't help his confidence. EDIT!! Oooooohhhhhhh damn, he actually kept pitching and got really pummeled. 2.2 IP 10 hits, 11 earned, 2 HR, 2 BB, 3 Ks Good night sweet prince....
  9. Yep, I read somewhere that if the Jays lose today's game the league is canceling the rest of the jays season and making them forfeit the remaining games. Season will be over.
  10. Is Schneider really costing the Jays a significant amount of wins? Honest question. I don't think it's his fault that Vlad, Kirk and Manoah are all fatties that are falling off a cliff career wise, and have cost the Jays probably 4-5 wins already.
  11. The fact that we're even discussing the Twins being in the playoffs is an absolute joke lol C'mon MLB, be better....
  12. Yep, and given that some of the relievers I was expecting big things from this season are not performing very well, it's nice to see several others making their mark. Adrian Hernandez, Zulueta and Eisert not impressing, but Juenger, Danner, Cooke, Fluharty, Brock and Francis are definitely on the radar now.
  13. Can we just rename this thread to "2023 ongoing tire fire thread"??
  14. So I take it Barriera must be injured? Hasn't pitched in a month.
  15. Boston with 6 wins in a row and as the last place team in the AL east would be a full 3 games up on the "1st place" AL Central Minnesota Twins No AL Central team should be allowed into the playoffs this year. What a travesty.
  16. Anyways, nice series win after getting shellacked 11-0 in the opener, and still in the hunt with lots of ball to play and time for Vlad/Kirk to get their s*** together.
  17. Vlad, Kirk and Manoah combined for 10.7 fWAR last season, and 9.0 fWAR in 2021. Combined for 0.5 fWAR so far this season with Manoah out of the league and Vladdy in full reverse. This team is missing 4-5 wins right now from 3 of their core homegrown players who all happen to be.....not in prototypical athletic shape. Maybe just a coincidence?
  18. Yeah, between Cooke, Fluharty, Danner, Juenger and Brock the Jays might have some good homegrown reliever options moving forward.
  19. Connor Cooke is a strike out machine. 18.32 K/9 in high A this season before being promoted to AA where he's racked up 17.25 K/9 so far. His combined 2.03 xFIP leads all Jays MiLB pitchers so far this season.
  20. I hadn't realized that the Angels were on a bit of a heater and have pulled a half game ahead of the Jays and into a tie with the Yanks for the last wild card spot.
  21. Sadly it seems as though they'll never get Vladdy's launch angle fixed. Guy should be winning home run titles.
  22. Too bad Bass didn't have his Twitter melt down before they cut Merryweather.
  23. Surprising I certainly agree with. But as a Jays fan I cannot call it one of the "best" stories, it's actually really goddamn annoying IMO
  24. Ah s***, I hadn't looked at Merryweather's stats in quite a while. Of course he figured it out and has managed to stay healthy the second he is out of a Jays uni.
