  1. Let's get Bednar for closer insurance (and control)
  2. That's why I'd rather go for Bednar if we want to double up on closers. At least he has some control left.
  3. Man does it ever suck that basically half of the Jays home grown core are (I'm sorry) over weight slobs. The team is on pace for 90+ wins and another playoff berth despite Manoah being -0.5 fWAR, Vladdy being 0.2 fWAR and Kirk being 0.4 fWAR. Imagine of those three actually acted like elite athletes and kept themselves in prime shape and weren't collectively hovering around replacement level? The jays would be pushing for the best record in baseball right now.
  4. That's pretty much exactly what I said dude. Going off the assumption he continues to pitch, he's pretty much a #3/4 on the Jays roster doing what he's done this season so far, if he finds his old form he's a potential ace who could start game 1 in any playoff series. Of course the worst case is him getting injured, but that's true of any player acquired by any team.
  5. I still say the Jays should kick tires on old man Scherzer. At worst he's a reliable #3/4 down the stretch, but the upside is legit game 1 playoff starter. Given his age and contract he probably wouldn't cost a ton of prospect capital either.
  6. Guerrero + Tiedemann for Ohtani would be roughly fair value IMO, but the Jays would have to feel pretty confident that they could get Ohtani extended, because if he walked in a few moths that one would sting.
  7. If Green is still a stud when he comes back, between him, Romano, Mayza, Swanson and Richards the Jays have late inning relief covered pretty well IMO. As mentioned, Garcia has been much better lately so those 6 relievers are a pretty strong set. I hate trading for relievers because even the best can s*** the bed with a change of scenery, but Bednar would be a really nice addition along with Green.
  8. The pen is like top 5 (ish) in MLB in most key categories. That's pretty solid.
  9. I have to seriously question the IQ of anyone complaining about Romano this season.
  10. Finally some Ricky Tiedemann updates again
  11. Is it a 4 gamer? Hope for a split
  12. It's weird as f*** because I agree it feels like we should be closer, but at the same time with Vlad, Manoah and Kirk combining for 0.1 fWAR I can hardly understand how the Jays are even in it at all. Who saw that coming?
  13. Yimi since May 30th: IP - 15.0 K/9 - 9.6 BB/9 - 0.6 HR/9 - 0.6 ERA - 1.20 FIP - 2.42 xFIP - 2.83 Romano, Mayza, Garcia, Green, Swanson, Richards and Pearson is a real solid BP (once Green returns)
  14. Jimmy Burnette had a tough go of it after being promoted to AAA, has settled down very well since June 8th. IP - 15.1 ERA - 2.35 K/9 - 13.50 BB/9 - 3.52 HR/9 - 0.59 WHIP - 0.91 Avg - .151 FIP - 3.19
  15. Brandon Eisert had a terrible start to the season in AAA, but has bounced back nicely since May 20th. IP - 24.0 ERA - 2.25 K/9 - 10.87 BB/9 - 2.62 HR/9 - 0.37 WHIP - 0.83 Avg - .157 FIP - 2.70
  16. It's crazy to look at the standings and see the Jays 5.5 games back of the division lead. Just a couple weeks ago they were 11 back and it.looked insurmountable.
  17. Every time I see that 7-20 vs the division record my blood boils little lol Even a meager 13-14 in the division has the Jays right up there with the Rays and Os A tad frustrating haha
  18. So much in limbo when it comes to SP. If Manoah is fixed and Ryu is still good the Jays don't really need to spend assets on another mid rotation starter like Stroman IMO But if Manoah/Ryu are ineffective then we could certainly use Stroman. I'd rather take a gamble on getting a potential ace though, a guy like Scherzer could possibly dig deep and win a playoff game all by himself. Same with the bullpen, doesn't seem like we really need to add there, especially if Green comes back and is still a stud.
  19. Yankees and Red Sox tied for last place in the AL east Also, they'd be tied for 1st place by 2 games in the Central
  20. Doesn't Scherzer have an opt out after this season? I wouldn't mind giving up a couple sad sack lottery ticket 'specs to bring that old boy in for a stretch run. The Mets aren't going anywhere, they're f***ed.
  21. That's a solid sweep. Jays are rolling minus that horseshit series vs the Red Sox
  22. Jays with another nice win, 11 games over .500 and still we have a moron running loose on the forum like a degenerate douche nozzle
  23. Kikuchi was a monster in the pen last season. If Manoah and Ryu prove to be solid starters moving Kooch to the pen makes the most sense IMO.
  24. I cannot believe we got swept by the f***ing red sox again. Could have really made up some ground in the division.
