  1. It's still a pretty good roster. Top 5 pitching staff (on paper) is a great place to start. The holes at 3B and LF are amplified though without Ohtani's bat at DH
  2. Jays24 and the hyperbole In every single post, it's hilarious
  3. He had an 85 wRC+ bat last season Not nearly as abysmal as you like to exaggerate it He projects well too
  4. He has a career 96 wRC+ Basically a league average bat
  5. History shows that Varsho has been a league average bat. Why do you have to make things up all the time?
  6. I'd hate to trade Manoah right now after that s*** season. If he bounces back you'd get a f***ing massive return next off season. Of course, there is a risk that he'd tank his value completely. Hopefully the FO has a good idea if he can bounce back or not. Gausman Berrios Yamamoto Kikuchi Bassitt Hard for him to bounce back though, if he doesn't even have a rotation spot lol God I hope they get Yama
  7. The teams management isn't perfect, but 91, 92 and 89 win seasons, playoffs 3/4 seasons.....they certainly seem decently good with those results.
  8. Signing Yama and Ohtani would be nucking futs. Talk about an embarrassment of riches when it comes to pitching. Gausman Yama Berrios Bassitt Kikuchi Manoah Tiedemann Plus you have a legit ACE in Ohtani tucked away for the future
  9. Well it's a worst case really, and it's also just replacement level filler. The heavy lifting needs to be done mostly by others, all these guys need to do is not drag the team down. And you never know man, Schneider came up and had 2+ fWAR out of nowhere.
  10. Well, it would leave 3B, LF and 2B kind of question marks I guess?? But there would be Biggio, Espinal, Schneider, Barger, Orelvis, Lantigua, Lopez, Roden, Clement, Horwitz, Morris, Palmegiani, Jiminez to potentially fill out those spots. Some of that mud has to stick right?
  11. Supposedly the Jays have a "unicorn" budget from Rogers if they are able to land Ohtani. I really don't think they have much restrictions right now when it comes to going all in this off season. Let's hope they land some big fishies
  12. I don't know who's available, but if by some miracle the Jays sign Yama I would bet on Manoah + getting dealt for a solid bat from somewhere. It might happen whether they sign Yama or not.
  13. You can package Manoah up for a solid bat probably. They were just speculating that's what they were shopping for Soto, one of the best bats out there. The point is if you can add a potential ace like Yama, you do it and then find a way to use the excess pitching to upgrade the offense.
  14. Not too worried about getting a 4-5 WAR bat, not with what would arguably be the best pitching staff in baseball. Especially if the Jays do land Ohtani along with Yama
  15. Haha it sounds like it after I type all that, but it's really no trouble at all with a well seasoned pan. I use mine to cook bacon and eggs just about every morning and when I'm done it's cleaned and seasoned with oil in under a minute.
  16. lol you can trade pitching for hitting Upgrade your rotation with a guy like Yamamoto and then trade from the lower part of the rotation to get a solid bat It's a net positive
  17. If it's seasoned properly it should clean easily with hot water and a brush or rag. Don't use soap, the soap will be slightly absorbed by the porous pan and then you might taste soap in your food. If it needs a good scrubbing because something crusty got cooked onto it just use coarse salt and rub it around in the pan. Any cooked on grit should scrape right off and then re-season it with oil again.
  18. LOL and if we did get Ohtani and he replaced Kooch in the rotation for 2025 Potentially three aces with Gausman, Ohtani and Yamamoto and still no room for Tiedemann with a healthy group
  19. I can't even process getting Yamamoto, I mean holy f*** balls what a rotation.. 1. Gausman 2. Berrios 3. Yamamoto 4. Bassitt 5. Kikuchi 6. Manoah 7. Tiedemann I assume Manoah would still be getting shopped hard for a bat, even if Soto is already gone.
  20. Who has said Atkins is "the best" for f*** sakes? lol You Atkins whiners like to build strawmen that's for sure.
  21. Fix your f***ing reading comprehension. I said "has a lot to do with luck" not "it's ALL luck" Big difference. Learn to read and comprehend what you're reading before going off all half cocked.
  22. "Most" believe? Haha that's a f***ing stretch if I ever saw one. I'd say most are just fine with what he's done to date. Playoff success is fleeting and has a lot to do with luck. The guy has built a consistent 90~ win team
  23. f*** I hate the yankees. As if Judge pushing our s*** in multiple times per year wasn't enough, now we get him stacked with a prime Soto??
  24. Man am I gonna be annoyed if the Jays miss out on Ohtani and the Yanks get Soto and then also sign Yamamoto..
  25. Hicks is projected to get 3 x $9 million I'd take him back on that, because I'm a sucker for the heat I don't think we need it, but if they have room in the payroll I'd be down.
