  1. The biggest thing the Jays can do to improve is have their porky trio of core players actually get in shape, stay in shape and produce how they are capable of. Vlad, Kirk and Manoah can add 10 wins to this team over what they provided last year. Springer and Varsho can be better too, although Springers age might be an issue now. But Varsho in CF with a league average bat can add a couple more wins too.
  2. They might as well sign Snell too now I mean why the f*** not right? Hell, grab Bauer while were at it. 1 year $20 million to see if he's still got it. Then they can have the next Japanese superstar who's getting posted next year. Let's see if we can get the Dodgers 130+ wins in a season
  3. How exciting for baseball I'm f***ing pumped
  4. I put soup on ignore. Couldn't take it anymore. I tried for a while. Would be nice if everyone did the same haha
  5. I keep forgetting about Lantugua. 260 innings at 3B and 311 innings at LF last season in AAA.
  6. Add Manoah (assuming the Brewers like him and think he'll bounce back) and then have the brewers eat some of the Yelich deal, and I don't think it's too crazy. Probably will never happen but the value's fair in my opinion.
  7. That's good and all, but what can he do to fix his peanut brain low baseball IQ?
  8. Doesn't he have a no trade clause? If so he'd have to agree to it which wouldn't be bush.
  9. I'm at the point where if they sign Bellinger and Chapman to the big deals, so be it. Might hurt down the road, but the team should be pretty good for next season, especially if Vladdy/Kirk/Springer have any sort of bounce back.
  10. You don't have to vomit every single thought you have onto this forum lol The Jays aren't going to sign that many guys and then go trade for those players on top of it. That's 7 players you think they can sign? If they sign Chappy and Bellinger they go out and sign a DH and maybe a depth starter/reliever and that's it. No need for Whit, IKF, Votto, Winker, Adames and Parades if they just signed Chappy and Belly north of $300 million total.
  11. It's not good for baseball though. They really should just have teams in NY or LA or Chicago. That way the best players don't have to go to some insufferable locale....like Toronto for instance.
  12. Wasn't it reported earlier that Snell is most likely going to his home town Mariners?
  13. Yep, totally agree. Baseball IQ of a peanut.
  14. I kind of agree. Sign Belly, Chappy and a DH and let's EFFFing go... It ain't my money lol
  15. They've won 100+ games in 6/7 years and haven't won less than 91 games in the last 11 seasons, 11 straight playoff years too. Only 1 WS though.
  16. Honestly, the biggest bat the Jays can add is to have Vladdy resurrect his career and put up another 6 fWAR season.
  17. No kidding. They "take a step back" and still win 100 games, then the next off season add a 3rd MVP to their line up and a pitcher good enough to be an ace (when healthy). Probably not done either. I bet Yamamoto signs with them too.
  18. What would you rather the Jays do: 1. Aroldis Chapman for 1 x $10m 2. Jordan Hicks for 3 x $40m 3. Josh Hader for 4 x $80m 4. None of the above I like our bullpen and it's depth, there are much bigger holes to fill right now. But damn I love the thought of a potential super bullpen like Hader, Romano, Green, Mayza, Swanson locking s*** down in late innings.
  19. I wonder if they'll get Yamamoto too?
  20. Looks like it's done
  21. Yeah I went and looked at that today. They'd literally have to give him away and eat a huge chunk of that contract, which they'll never do, so yeah....an Angel for life.
  22. The contracts are no doubt risky, but signing Bellinger, Chapman and JD Martinez is probably the absolute best the Jays could do as far as FA's go. Probably the most formidable line up they could put together at the moment without doing it via trades. LF - Springer SS - Bichette 1B - Guerrero RF - Bellinger DH - Martinez 3B - Chapman C - Kirk / Jansen 2B - Biggio/ Schneider / Espinal CF - Varsho One more for the bench out of Lukes, Clement, Horwitz, etc Probably not much money left after that to sign anything more than maybe some depth pitching, but the staff is pretty solid on paper as is.
  23. This is why I like the idea of taking Yelich from them while grabbing a few other things. They are cheap and Adames and Burnes are both a year away from FA. Manoah for Yelich, Burnes, Adames. Toss in a couple low value, near MLB ready pieces from our 40 man like Jiminez, Zulu maybe... Just need a capable DH after that.
  24. Pretty sure it's the salary that counts against the luxury tax payroll, not the AAV
  25. OK, now I want Bellinger on the Jays again.
