    The Jays can probably get a couple very good players from the Padres, but only because those players have terrible contracts, and also only because the Padres are trying to cut payroll. Guys like Boegarts and Machado Not a bad proposition if the Padres pay a portion of the deals

    I think the Jays want Vladdy to recover his value, trading him now would be selling very low. If Bo is not interested in extending and wants to get to FA, then he makes the most sense for franchise altering trade bait. Padres/Jays making a huge swap makes sense to me. Both teams are good but struggling to get over the hump, and now the Padres trying to cut payroll.

    Yeah, very gross but the Padres would have to eat some of it and it could be an opportunity to nab a 4+ fWAR 3B for basically free. Just deal with the contract later on when it starts to cause pain.

    Machado is who I'm hoping for. Terrible contract but in a vacuum the player is exactly what the Jays need. A solid 3B with a big bat.

    I'm actually quite excited about KK and IKF being signed the more I think about it. I was concerned that the D was going to take a pretty substantial hit losing KK and Chapman and as a result would drag down the pitching some. It's kind of a relief that they shored up the run prevention and kind of morphed Whit and Espinal into one single better option who can actually play high level 3B, but they've done it in a way that any prospects who actually break out won't be blocked. Still time to make more improvements too.

Thank god you're here now to give us all a history lesson. Too bad for KK that he didn't consult a genius like you before he took less money to sign with the Jays because apparently the Jays are 0-6 in their last three wild card series. f***ing too many idiots around here, my god.

    No kidding. They tried for all the big names, even were in on Soto. What the f*** are they supposed to do, just give up and don't sign anybody because they missed out on the top tier guys? Still need solid depth everywhere on the diamond.

    Pearson will figure it out at some point and be a valuable high leverage reliever or maybe even a closer. I hope he's still on the jays when it happens.

    I'd still way rather have Machado, especially if the Jays get some salary relief. His offensive ceiling is way higher and he has a much better chance of reaching it in my opinion, plus he still brings a solid glove at 3B too. He makes the Jays a much better team for the next 4-5 years, but yeah...it hurts after that for sure.

    Same fWAR too, and Varsho is way cheaper. People just can't get over them trading Moreno for him I guess. Atkins has traded away so many prospects over the last 4 years or so, and Moreno is pretty much the only one that has even shown a flicker of maybe doing something at the MLB level and yet Atkins just gets raked for it because Varsho only had a league average bat last season lol I mean there is one guy here that keeps saying the jays should fire Varsho into the sun despite the fact that he is the Jays highest projected fWAR outfielder. SMH

    I like the idea of bringing back Stroman. Gausman Berrios Bassitt Stroman Kikuchi That is one durable (albeit expensive) rotation. Then package up Manoah with Espinal and more for a decent OF power bat or 3B? Can we get anything decent for those two? Manoah and Espinal for Yelich, Adames plus cash?
