  1. Jays top 3 starting pitching prospects all go down within a week of each other. Sometimes I wish I was just oblivious to prospects and didn't follow them, because s*** like that just takes the wind right out of the sails of a guys fandom.
  2. I think the mods should change his username to Orioles363 He is literally covered head to toe in orange and black jizz
  3. Merrifield is even worse and the Philles paid him $15 million. Lucky for them year two is a club option so they won't have to pay the full amount.
  4. If Tiedeman is hurt the only one left in AAA is Espino, so hopefully Manoah is good again. If he isn't then Francis will get the 5th starter spot again. Which might be OK, jury isn't out on him yet.
  5. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....it's probably a duck. He seems like a fun loving guy, I hate to crap on him so much. But he doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed.
  6. Well, if Manoah can actually be good again I'm OK with it. That's a big IF though. IF he is, it's a great spot for the Jays to be in, and yeah we don't want to break Yariel.
  7. For a poor defensive 1B that gets picked off 2nd base (when he's not even the lead runner lmao) to end your season? Yep, super sad.
  8. Yeah when I was following Maroudis on the game trackers he was sitting mid 90's not 91
  9. Cracks me up every year people say the Jays have no starting depth like they think all the other teams have 7 or 8 proven MLB starters signed, some of them supposedly just fine pitching in AAA waiting for an injury. Don't see many teams digging 8 starting pitchers deep for their MLB rotation and still throwing some stud out on the mound every game. By that point it's almost never a proven guy anymore and someone with warts or no experience, or both.
  10. Anyone know how Leo Jiminez' glove is at SS? Maybe he can replace Bo at SS next year if they trade him and can't lure Adames to TO. Even if he only runs a 80-90 wRC+ bat at the MLB level, if he's a stud at SS defensively and provides 2-3 fWAR you can use the money saved to add offense elsewhere. Like Soto in LF and move Varsho to CF, let KK walk. But yeah, I agree wholeheartedly that you throw every thing you can at Soto in the off season after (most likely) dumping Vlad.
  11. Absolutely, especially if they use the freed up money to pay for more offensive production. Now Bo is off to a slow start, but he's gotten it going after slow starts before. But it's not hard to replace a 1 WAR first baseman or 2 WAR right fielder. If Bo gets it going again as a 4 WAR SS, he's harder to replace for sure.
  12. Hmmm, 24 year old OF Steward Berroa: Looks like he's pretty much playing the bulk of his time in CF the last couple years at AA and AAA. 2021 - Low A, 333 PAs, 112 wRC+, 55 SB's 2022 - High A, 255 PAs, 106 WRC+, 40 SB's 2023 - AA, 396 PAs, 123 wRC+, 43 SB's 2024 - AAA, 33 PAs, 120 wRC+, 8 SB's (so far) Little switch hitting speedster. Could be useful going forward.
  13. Yeah, I lean towards optimism most of the time but Vlad just doesn't have the ability to make adjustments. Low IQ player. He took the league by storm. The league adjusted. He hasn't been able to re-adjust. And other than his bat he provides negative value, so being just above a league average bat makes him a very expensive replacement level 1B. I'd love to be wrong though. He's got tons of power though so he can win home run derby's when he has somebody tossing BP tomatoes for him to can. But when an MLB pitcher wants to shut him down in a game, he knows exactly how to do it.
  14. As we all know the front office tried to do that this last off season, Ohtani already with 1.5 fWAR They also were in talks to get Soto, already 1.6 fWAR Hopefully they have more luck next off season luring a big bat or two to Toronto. It's such a shame to waste this incredible pitching staff and amazing depth waiting for Vlad (and now possibly Bo) to do what they're supposed to do.
  15. This org has so much depth but the superstars aren't superstarring, they are supersucking. Varsho at 1.0 fWAR already IKF at 0.5 Turner at 0.5 Clement at 0.5 Biggio at 0.5 I mean as far as the new additions and depth pieces go, you couldn't draw up a better start. But then there is your $20 million 1B "core" piece with 0.1 fWAR and your $11.2 million starting SS with 0.0 fWAR Hopefully they get their s*** together. We need them
  16. It's unbelievable really. And yet somehow this team competes with massive underperformances from these key core players year after year. Atkins has really built up the depth of the roster for them to survive these disappointments like this.
  17. I said in the MiLB thread, I am chomping at the bit to see Horwitz, Barger and Orelvis at the MLB level. The three of them are really hammering AAA pitching right now.
  18. Sucks to miss out on a sweep again, but that's four straight series wins
  19. Blaming the Jays for Vlad's inability to "lift" the ball? lmao
  20. Heh, the Bisons put Andrew Bechtold in to pitch the 9th in that slaughter. I had forgotten about this guy they signed this off season. He was with the Twins and late last year converted from position player to reliever. He was wild as f*** but throwing smoke. 4-seam was sitting 96-97mph, topped out at 98mph. Also threw a cutter and a slider. Anyways, he gave up a single and two walks to go along with a strike out to end the game and strand the bases loaded.
  21. Orelvis just crushed his 6th home run of the year Exit Velocity 108.6mph Distance 410ft Launch Angle 32deg The Bisons have scored 11 runs in the last two innings and are clubbing the Clippers 16-4, they have 17 hits so far in the top of the 9th I am getting so that I really want to see Barger, Martinez and Horwitz on the Jays. Combined today they are 8 for 17 with 10 RBIs, 2 HRs and 2 doubles
  22. If the starters hold up this team will be tough to beat. Berrios and Kikuchi have never looked better. Yariel looks like he's for real. Bassitt is Bassitt, and once Gausman gets fully up to speed he's the best of the bunch more than likely.
  23. Green on the 15 day IL f*** sakes I wanna see super bullpen fully in tact
  24. Berrios rocking the sub 1 ERA lmao He and Kikuchi going to finish 1-2 in CY voting? Haha Oh and Dalton Varsho is quite the stud muffin isn't he?
