    Varsho is still 7th in the entire league for fWAR among outfielders but yeah, I mean hey.... the guy has had a rough week at the plate so let's get out the pitchforks again why don't we..... Some of you need a new hobby/interest if this one makes you so angry that you have to attack even the good parts of it

    The problem with this team is the core players are not as good as they should be. Vlad and Kirk both took huge steps back, and now Bo is doing it, plus Springer aged about 10 years in one f***ing off season. Manoah is another issue, but our starting pitching can survive without him, the bats cannot survive with Vlad, Kirk, Bo and Springer all useless garbage hitters. I fear this can is going to get kicked down the road for one more year, because Bo and Vlad are next to worthless in a trade playing the way they are playing right now and Springer is nothing more than a sunk cost at this point. As for Kirk....well someone has to catch and he's the only MLB catcher we have under control past this season right now.

    With the way things are going Yimi is probably going to suck now after hurting himself and not pitching for a couple weeks lol But yeah, I agree. Gotta use the high leverage guys to keep the game 1 run in the 9th

    Thankfully the high pay roll isn't locked in for long and they have the ability to do a quick reset to somewhat replenish the farm if this doesn't get turned around and they so choose.

    That's true, but its not really a counter point because the point of my post was that the Swanson trade was solid value.

    Swanson had 1.4 WAR last year for $1,250,000, Teoscar had 2.1 WAR for $14,000,000 plus the Jays got SP prospect Macko and then Teo walked away from the Mariners for sweet F all So yeah, it was a steal really Whatever he's doing with the Dodgers this year has absolutely no bearing on that trade in any way Atkins deserves to be criticized for some things, but that trade isn't one of them

    KK with a .576 OPS Springer with a .574 OPS It's bad enough they're still in the everyday line up, but Springer still batting lead off...? Vogelbach on the bench with a .400 OPS and -0.3 fWAR in 34 PA's...? Then we have all these guys in AAA hitting the cover off the ball and I don't think they'd do any worse than these regulars that are sinking the good ship Blue Jay

    My favorite part is when they cry "they did nothing to address the hitting" I always respond "you mean other than try to bring in the only two elite bats that were available, including throwing a meager $700 million at Ohtani? There was no one else out there" Then you get the "they should have signed *same handful of players*" Meanwhile at least half of those *handful of players* suck balls right now and wouldn't have helped at all but would have cost more money and term. So now as the season wears on that *handful of players* they like to bring up keeps getting smaller and smaller as they use hind sight to see which of them are actually hitting this year.
