  1. As much as I like to crap on Kirk: Kirk - .214 / .295 / .289 / wRC+ 72 / fWAR 0.8 Moreno - .234 / .323 / .324 / wRC+ 89 / fWAR 0.9
  2. lol I mean look at this team! Varsho = 1.9 fWAR Vlad + Bo + Kirk = 1.9 fWAR combined Tell please tell me again how signing Hoskins and Teo would have saved this team lmao The only thing that would have saved this team is Atkins somehow having the foresight and balls to trade Vlad and Bo after 2021 0r 2022 which nobody in their right mind would have done, and if he had tried he would have had his balls immediately separated from his body by Shapiro and/or Rogers. "You wanna do what Ross?!?!?"
  3. Well clearly you are in the minority as not a single MLB GM was willing to give him even a two year deal, never mind 3 or 4.
  4. I'm not irrationally angry, but I do find it annoying that same two or three morons pop up and claim I absolve Atkins of any blame whatsoever just because I argue that fixing the offense last off season wasn't as easy as many want to believe. He built the team, of course he has to take some of the blame. I put most of the blame on an underperforming core of players who looked like a sure thing to build around just two years ago. Clearly at this point we can all see that it was a mistake to build around them though.
  5. I would have loved Teo on a 1 year deal, he said he talked to the Jays and wanted a 3 year deal from them. Given that he didn't even break 1 fWAR last season do you really blame the Jays for not jumping at that? It's all fine and dandy to say you would now that he's lighting it up in the middle of a stacked Dodgers line up though.
  6. Learn how to f***ing read you f***ing moron. Since when is putting Atkins on the hook for building around Vlad, Bo and Kirk giving him a free pass??? Are you really that f***ing stupid?
  7. Bo and Springer pounding out .800+ OPS's for the rest of the season might save this offense. Add in Kirk with a .700 OPS would also help. Of course, if they do that we can't also have Varsho, Vlad and Jansen crap the bed at the same time.
  8. This discussion is hilarious, same thing for the 1000 time this season. JAYS DID NOTHING TO FIX OFFENSE There really wasn't any options that could fix this offense. YEAH THERE WAS, LEMME GO TO FANGRAPHS AND HANDPICK TWO OR THREE OF THE 20 s***** OPTIONS THAT WERE AVAILABLE BUT ARE ACTUALLY HITTING WELL THIS SEASON...YEAH YEAH THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THOSE GUYS BLANK CHEQUES Meanwhile the same people will argue that even landing ohtani wouldn't fix this offense right now, he'd just be one good bat in a sea of sucktitude lmao The offense this year was going to live or die with the core bouncing back, and they haven't so far. It's just a s***** core and if you want to blame Atkins for not figuring that out sooner fine.
  9. That's crap. You're using hindsight to hand pick players who are having good years right now and that was no guarantee at the time. You look at Teo and Hoskins fangraphs and neither one of them are a sure thing every season. On top of that you can't guarantee they'd have the same success here as they are having on their current teams. And for all you know, the Jays did talk to these players and were told no outright, or no not unless you offer way more money.
  10. Of course it's their job to figure it out, but they painted themselves into a corner building around what appears to be a rotten core. If you think they should walk the plank for expecting more out of Vlad, Bo, Kirk then fine, but it doesn't change the fact that there was f*** all they could do to "fix the offense" last off season.
  11. Yeah I can't believe the bastards couldn't conjure up a bunch of amazing hitters out of thin air. They should be tarred and feathered.
  12. And the DBacks had a -15 run differential and a pythag record of 80-82
  13. People can't seem to grasp that all these 100 win super teams combined for 1 playoff win last year and a 90 win and a 84 win team duked it out for the championship. And that s*** happens a lot.
  14. Lots of wins lately, hopefully they can keep.it going against some good teams now.
  15. By all means keep it yourself, why share Jays news on a Jays message board?
  16. Spencer Horwitz went 5 for 6 today with 2 doubles, a home run and 6 RBIs
  17. The pen just can't catch a break this year.
  18. So this is the fourth Jays pitcher to go see Meister this season? Maroudis = TJS Barrierra = TJS Tiedemann = no TJS yet but hasn't pitched in over a month Manoah = TBD
  19. Man that sucks. Manoah was like found money, and just like that he's gone again. Just when the bullpen was getting replenished too, with Yariel and Francis almost ready to go.
  20. Posted this last night. Small sample size, but he's blown up to 15K/9 in AAA this season. Hopefully he's found something that can work against MLB hitters too.
  21. Just read on MLBTR that the Jays are going to grab reliever Ryan Burr from the Phillies.
  22. Trenton Wallace might be an interesting option if they were considering bringing up an SP straight from AA
  23. Trevor BlackballedBauer
  24. Sure sounds to me like he said "I'm probably the worst team mate in MLB"
  25. Yeah he's been serviceable, but still a frightening option in high leverage IMO
