  1. Could very well end up with 4 of 6 playoff teams being from the AL east, with the 5th AL east team barely missing.
  2. Waldron DFA Cellucci's contract selected
  3. Yeah, RT being a starter seems like a real long shot. If he stays a reliever though, the Jays have built up a decent pool of potential high end lefty relievers, especially if Little has turned a corner. Flu is solid if unspectacular. Little if he's figured control out has shown flashes of dominance. Tiedemann has the kind of high end stuff that could be high leverage. Coleman is now in AAA, getting knocked around a bit early on but there is time to figure it out.
  4. How messed up is this?
  5. Hopefully they can fix Sewald quickly with usage and pitch adjustments, because Varland, Rogers and Miles is not enough for all the high leverage the bullpen has to face. Nice win though!
  6. Bloss placed on the 60 day IL Jays SP's on the IL Yesavage Taillon Arrighetti Berrios Ponce Francis Corbin Bloss lmao
  7. Should probably just go ahead and bring in at least a dozen MLB caliber starting pitchers next season and assume 6 of them will be on the IL most or all of the year. Effing ridiculous
  8. Jays bolster their starting pitching at the deadline despite trading away Gausman. Within a week Yesavage, Arrighetti and Taillon all leave their game injured. Season from hell man.
  9. Hopefully. I was thinking Stanifer would make a push for MLB this season after making it to AA last season and looking solid there, he seems to have stalled out a little bit though.
  10. Now they've got Stanifer, Perry, King and Guerra all at AA. Nice
  11. Red Sox are 32-7 in their last 39 games. Jesus They were 32-5 before losing the last two games against the A's Kind of like what the Jays did last season in the second half. Except they're coming from from further back and much later in the season.
  12. For the record I didn't once say that Hoffman sucks and can't be trusted, and as far as I can see I'm the only one in here wishing they hadn't traded him. Or at least I'm the one bringing him up as I watch the bullpen get stretched to it's limits. I also said "it is what it is" and that I hope Dasan Hill amounts to something, so I'd hardly call it "whining". But, whatever floats your boat I guess.
  13. Yeah I realize that, but the guy had been dominant for nearly three months, wasn't a pending free agent, and losing him severely weakened the Jays bullpen given the lackluster options they have to replace his innings. Anyways, what's done is done. I just hope the stud pitching prospect they got makes me eat my words sometime in the next 3-4 years.
  14. Sure would be nice if they had better relief arms to step in than Estrada, Waldron and Little if they were going to trade Hoffman while they try to claw their way back into a playoff spot.
  15. Interesting. I wonder what the plan was for Arrighetti then? Since he was due back sooner rather than later. Apparently he got pulled from his latest rehab start though with some sort of injury, so not sure on his timeline anymore.
  16. I sure hope Dasan Hill turns into something because IMO weakening the bullpen by trading Hoffman wasn't the smartest move at this stage. They were at the point with Miles being in the pen more that they had developed a nice little four headed late inning, high leverage BP monster with Miles, Hoffman, Rogers and Varland. Could have eased Little in more gradually that way too.
  17. Looks like Ricky T was sitting 96-98 MPH with the 4-seam. Nice
  18. Boss Atkins just shouldering the blame like a man's man despite loading this team up 8 SP's deep last winter, bringing back 90% of the #1 offense & defense in baseball from last season and adding Okamoto to it.
  19. The funniest (saddest) thing about this season is that even with all the pitching injuries and Kirk/Springer early injuries if the offense would have just went from top 2 or 3 to middle of the pack, they'd probably be in a wild card spot. But no, it had to go from top 2 or 3 to pretty much the worst offense in baseball. Unreal.
  20. It's just completely and utterly ridiculous how every time there might be a little bit of light shining through, something immediately happens to make everything dark again. Jays get a good start from Scherzer off the IL, Biebs makes his 4th good start in 5 games, jays then shore up the rotation at the deadline by adding Soriano and Arrighetti, very next day Trey Yesavage hurts himself warming up. This season is a complete tire fire. never ends this ********.
  21. C'mon Vladdy, I don't want to be right about you. Get your effing sheeeit together man. With our pitching, Vladdy at a 180 wRC+ for a couple months will bring a lot of W's
  22. I'm not saying he is an ace. I'm saying it'd be nice if the Jays could find more to unlock with him and turn him into an ace, or at least a very good #1. This is a pitcher who had a 3 WAR season already and is on his way to another this year possibly. Better framers, better pitch mix, better D behind him and maybe he becomes a 5 WAR starter? Maybe...and a 5 WAR starter would make him an ace.
