  1. Just saw a headline on MLB app that says Yesavage is getting promoted to AAA
  2. Bassitt and his 6+ ERA on the road vs the Dodgers. Yikes.
  3. That they should run a 6 man rotation now that they have Bieber
  4. Nice to still have a series left to play against the Twins Holy s*** did they gut their roster. Like 9 guys off the 26 man, including 4 high end, high leverage relievers?
  5. Man the Jays BP is going to be super cheap next year and probably pretty damn good and deep. Hoffman ($11.0) Garcia ($7.5) Rodriguez ($6.4) Varland (Pre-arb) Little (Pre-arb) Fisher (Pre-arb) Sandlin (Arb 1) Fluharty (Pre-arb) Burr (Pre-arb) Nance (Pre-arb)
  6. It's going to be interesting to see if the Jays try to stretch Varland back out into a starter next year. Seems like it would be a good idea to try.
  7. The recent struggles we had with the pitching was mostly just Bassitt getting pounded on the road (big surprise there) and two AAA starters coming up and getting pummeled in a spot start because of a double header, and then they used a position player to finish off a blow out.
  8. I like Roden, but if Loperfido is breaking out we don't need Roden...now or in the future. We did need a late inning stud reliever like Varland though.
  9. I'm confident that Bieber is going to f***ing shine. The guy is a stud.
  10. So what are we thinking, 6 man rotation when Bieber comes up? Bullpen looks real solid with the two 8th inning guys added.
  11. Atkins got two 8th inning flame throwing high leverage relievers and an ace starter that didn't really seem like a realistic possibility. He kind of low key knocked it out of the park.
  12. lol There is always somebody having an emotional meltdown in these threads. I hate to see Rojas and Roden go, I don't quite get the France addition, but we added two stud late inning relievers and a legit shot at a bona fide ace starter. It's what this team needed the most.
  13. I honestly thought it was weird myself why he would do that while battling for a full time MLB spot.
  14. Damn. I figured the Jays would have landed another good reliever by now. Coming off the board quickly
  15. Nah. If he's good enough the rest of the season to make opting out his best option, then our chances this season just went up quite a bit. It'll mean he's pitching like an ace or top of the rotation starter. Then if he walks we are in exactly the same position we were going to be in next year anyways but without Khal Stephen. So, not really that different, and I'd hardly call that f***ed.
  16. The Padres are moving Suarez because he can opt out after this season and likely will? Man, get Cease, Suarez and then get Bednar too. f*** it. Load up.
  17. Imagine if the Jays snagged Cease now? That'd be insane wouldn't it. Seems unlikely, but going into the playoffs with Bieber, Cease, Gausman starting would be nutso.
  18. Pretty pumped about this. Hopefully he's his old self when he comes back. If so, literally just added the ace we all talked about needing, and with Gausman starting to shove lately, that's a pretty deadly 1-2 punch. If Bieber declines the option, do the Jays get a comp pick if he signs elsewhere? Just curious.
  19. Yeah, if Bieber's stuff looks good in his rehab games that could be the ace we need. Him and Bednar could be quite the haul for this team.
  20. With the Jays in 1st place in the entire MLB, I certainly won't be fretting about much of anything. I was one of the more positive guys around when they significantly under achieved the last 2-3 seasons. If Vlad has a 4 WAR season, that's a win in my books, even with his hefty price tag.
  21. I dunno, a 4 WAR year is weak sauce for a guy with a $500 million price tag, but you can live with it when the rest of the roster is riddled with 2-3+ WAR players and has ZERO passengers.
