    Full year of Berrios could bring more WAR Full year of Manoah could bring more WAR Full year of healthy Biggio could bring more WAR Full year of non-s***** Jansen and healthy Kirk could bring more WAR Whoever replaces Ray and Matz in the rotation may not combine for 8-9 WAR, but should replace some of it Also, the you sure as f*** hope the bullpen doesn't leave as much WAR on the table this next season as it did last season.

    Should the Jays really be handing out another $100,000,000+ multi year contract to a 30+ year old position player? I love Semien, but they will hamstring themselves if they keep doing that.

    Maybe not, but it makes complete sense. The Marlins have a surplus of good young starting pitchers and have expressed interest in acquiring a catcher. The Jays just so happen to have a surplus of good young catchers.

    I'm all for it, but it doesn't seem like the Jays are doing it. Besides, trading Kirk for a controllable young starting pitcher wouldn't be the worst thing. Especially with Jansen turning things around, and Moreno on the cusp.

    I predict the Jays will trade Kirk for a young Marlin starter this off season. Going to guess Lopez, and the Jays add a bit to get it done. Start the season with Jansen/Mcguire until Moreno gets some AAA under his belt. I also predict they will agree to a long term extension with Berrios and it will be a touch higher than you might expect, in order to keep him from waiting a year to test free agency.

    What the f***? The Jays competitive window is a hell of a lot longer than that. The only way it won't be is if they pay those guys huge contracts and then those guys start sucking. They've got a great young core, and a top 10 farm system.

    Yep. Jays will have to move a catcher this off season you would think, if they plan on keeping Moreno there. I also wonder Mcguire would make it through waivers again. I kind of doubt it.

    Awesome. Man I wish Moreno was a 3B. The timing would be perfect for him to come up next season and go all Bo Bichette on MLB.

    I sort of lean this way too. I don't think Semien will be back, just my opinion. So do the Jays roll with Espinal/Smith at 3rd base and Biggio/Lopez at 2nd base and wait for Moreno/Martinez and Groshans to arrive? Meanwhile pour the FA dollars into pitching for now? Not a bad idea I don't think. They will score lots of runs even without Semien, but they need to add 2 or 3 quality starting pitchers and 2 or 3 solid high leverage relievers. Of course, they could go with a cheaper 3B addition also. Don't have to break the bank for Ramirez.

    That's a very good question for sure. That would be my biggest worry, keeping Ramirez more than two years may not be possible, and if it is its going to cost you a lot of money and you may have to let another core piece walk as a result. We have some of those worries right now with Berrios.

    AA is lucky the rest of his division is a f***ing steaming pile of monkey s***, or else he wouldn't have even sniffed the playoffs this year, never mind going to the world series.

    You definitely give Matz the QO. It's a no brainer in my opinion. Worst case scenario would be you get Matz for 1 more year at $18 million. While he's not worth that much for one year, it's only one year and as of right now the Jays are thin on starting pitching. I'd rather the Jays risk paying him $6-8 million more than he's worth for one year than risk losing him with no compensation pick awarded.

    If the Jays are going to go after Ramirez this off season, might as well swing for the fences and try to get Bieber too. If Cleveland deals Ramirez, they might as well go into a full on rebuild. It would gut the farm system, but you'd have a few years to replenish it while being a massive threat for multiple world series titles.     I can't wait to watch this off season play out. I believe that even without any signings or trades they already have a solid team. But, they obviously won't stand pat. They will be in on so many things and they have payroll room to make big signings, they also have prospect capital to make big trades. There are several different ways they can try to go.

    Jose Ramirez would fit this roster so perfectly. 3rd base, switch hitter, high OBP, high OPS.... Just don't see any way Cleveland moves him without a massive, massive overpay considering his contract. And then, even if they do they likely find an NL team to send him to instead of potential wild card competition.

    In no way did I want to see the Jays trade Kirk, but then Jansen had a nice turnaround. He may be alright after all. Like I proposed earlier in this thread, I could see them packaging Kirk with Pearson for a good starting pitcher with some control. It'd be a way to fast forward Pearson's development. I suggested German Marquez. Do that, then also land a good FA pitcher and the rotation would be a juggernaut for many years. Especially with a Berrios extension.     Who's better, Berrios or Marquez? Which set of prospects is better, Martin/SWR or Kirk/Pearson? Of course I guess you have to consider that Marquez contract right now is way better than Berrios contract was when the Jays acquired him, because of term.

    Hmmm, not an "ace" so to speak, but very good and belongs at or near the top of a rotation. Pretty much a lock for 3-5 WAR.
