  1. And catchers. And pitchers. Essentially, everyone but the CF, 2B and 1B position. Also, you don't say? I know which positions generally have stronger arms, meat. I wasn't asking for you to explain the ABCs of baseball. I was wanting an actual source for your posit; metrics, comparing Cavan's arm to Didi's. Because both players could conceivably play 2B or 3B if Didi is signed. You could have just said "because I guess he does" and be done with it. Or actually supply a "source".
  2. AKA - Spider sense. Got it.
  3. I got the feeling the FO was fed up with the Fisher miscues, too. Wasn't he put on the IL a day after making two brutal errors? I don't think he is long for this roster. IMO, he just looks horrible out in the OF, like he's a converted slowpitch player or something.
  4. Turner would be a prime candidate for an overpay 1-2 year contract. Just to fill 3B until players like maybe Groshans or Martin are ready to step in.
  5. Now that CF is covered for the foreseeable future, where do you guys see Martin playing? Say he comes up as early as May, 2022, where do you think his best spot is? I know this offseason (and next) are far from over, but ideally is his best position SS? Does he have the arm for 3B. Maybe he'd be a good corner OF?
  6. I would be VERY happy grabbing Didi. Taking a look at fangraphs, he projects > 2 WAR. That is awesome. He has plus defense at SS, but I assume he would play 3B for the Jays. Or would e play 2B with Biggio playing 3B? I think Didi's arm is better than Cavan's but I am not sure.
  7. Are there any Roark fans on this forum?
  8. For the Angels or the Jays?
  9. It really is uncanny. It is like they have a fortune teller on staff. As a GM, I just wouldn't make trades with that club.
  10. I think he had a great year last year. I am willing to give him full time ABs as a fan.
  11. I fired The Athletic when they fired Stoeten. I loved Stoeten's pieces. Check out his free stuff, now. I love his takes on things. He doesn't do hot takes.
  12. 40 FV doesn't seem aggressive to me. 45+ would have been eye popping. Clearly I am missing something.
  13. I am higher on Walker than most, I would love him back on a 1-year. I would like Odorizzi here on a 2-3 year deal. Damnit, Roark has kind of mucked things up with his awful self.
  14. What would it take? $37M? $40M? I'd really want minimum 2-year, but that's a lot of cash. I think 2-3 of our young guys could be effective starters right away. Maybe a 1-year, $40M isn't crazy. Then we'd have the SWRs and Manoahs of the world ready by 2022.
  15. Wow, he really hates the Blue Jays.
  16. I think, if anything, this means we are more in on Bauer. Bauer must see that the FO isn't f***ing around, and is trying to win the right way; solid core and great FA adds with money to spend when necessary. By the sounds of it, from pitchers like Tijuan Walker, the pitching analytics the Jays use are top shelf, and a smart guy like Bauer would appreciate it. But who knows.
  17. Also, Pujols could really be 50-years old.
  18. Money and term are 90% of the equation though. And players tend to be impressed with our FO and training facilities.
  19. That contract would be amazing.
  20. Me too! Did he have TJ? Guess I can just Google that. EDIT: He had TJ in September, 2019. Damn, he should be ready for 2021! I think this guy can be a very solid reliever. https://www.mlb.com/news/tim-mayza-undergoes-tommy-john-surgery
  21. I don't understand how that is even possible. Holy crap the Padres have a system.
  22. You reference the Angels a fair bit, which is weird on a Jays forum. Is there a story behind that?
  23. It would be a sexy signing, but yeah, I think the exact same thing. I predict major production decrease after the 2023 season. In 2016 Springer had one of the better OF arms in the game. It's probably still okay a few years from now. Maybe he'd be a decent corner outfield after he starts to slow? Dunno.
