  1. As a Jay he hit one of the hardest dingers I have ever seen. I remember him for that first. All this other BS second.
  2. Davis yes, an extra pitcher no. #justsayin I am not a Panik fan.
  3. Espinal and Wall...my picks for the bench.
  4. I find Wall very intriguing. He's has a good ST and he bats left. If we trade Grichuk, could he take his place? Can he play all three OF positions?
  5. I hope the Jays don't carry Reese, and expose him to waivers. I would rather keep Merryweather AND Liriano to start the season. We will see. The Mets cut Caleb Joseph. He's likely come back if the Jays really want that veteran presence.
  6. Wow, how does that happen? Wasn't he a 90-91 mph fastball guy a couple years ago?
  7. That would be an amazing, fun group of pitchers to watch for a few years. Sign a decent vet SP and we could have a really great starting 5.
  8. SWR, too. Dan Shulman on Twitter said he would be figured he would be up on 2022, or late 2021 if things happen.
  9. Would that means Vladdy plays a bit of 3B pushing Biggio to the OF?
  10. The Philadelphia guys are f***ing horrible.
  11. McKinney having a strong spring, has a real shot to break with the Brewers and contribute. https://madison.com/wsj/sports/baseball/professional/billy-mckinney-doing-his-best-to-impress-brewers-brass/article_669cf27d-d60f-5e51-9505-5ea783e199aa.html?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter_ In other news, the Pirates signed PED user and domestic abuser Steven Wright. Wow.
  12. So what is with Pompey, too many concussions? What was Lawrie's issue, besides being a little dumb. He had arm and back issues, IIRC. Man, when Lawrie first came up for us he was unbelievable.
  13. I was just looking to see what Dalton Pompey was up to. I was surprised to find out he is sort of out of baseball. Hasn't played since 2020. And he wasn't signed by anyone for 2021. He's 28. Huh. I thought he had a shot somewhere. In other former Canuck baseball player news, Brett Lawrie has been out of professional baseball for 5 years now. I really liked both players back in the day. Kind of depressing.
  14. I've never been too much of a Davis fan, but to his credit he keeps producing. And has plus defense. Last year I wouldn't have cared if he was DFAed. Now I can see him as a long term piece on this roster.
  15. So carry 7 arms in the 'pen until then? Maybe. I do not think there is a prayer McGuire clears waivers. I couldn't care less, honestly. He is as meh as they get. At least in our system where we have all the catchers.
  16. No kidding! Joe Panik will definitely be playing. And that 30-year old 1B who no one gives a s*** about.
  17. No kidding, I will bet for every deal that is made, 9 are seriously pondered by 2+ teams. That would make for a great read, a book on the near deals.
  18. That is exactly the analogy I was thinking of but held back. For the kids.
  19. Does anyone have the Sportsnet ST broadcast schedule? That may be a decent idea to make a sticky in this forum. I took a capture of Hazel Mae's tweet a week or so ago, but there has to be a live link that stays current
  20. He seems like a guy with two decent pitches, and high velo. Nice to have him back. https://www.athleticsnation.com/2020/12/11/22169007/mlb-rule-5-draft-results-scouting-report-dany-jimenez-oakland-as He's older at 27-years old.
  21. No kidding about the catch...he had it at least 3 seconds. And, now I was watching live so dunno for sure, it looks like the runner was tossed out at home. Annoying play all around.
  22. Marquez has such a good team-friendly contract. He is honestly the perfect fit. It would burn up a lot of our prospect capital, but four years of a really good SP. He, plus Ryu and Pearson and our offense give us a shot at greatness. I think I pull that trigger. It could be a ~ 3 + win differential.
  23. Jesus I would do that EVERY time, and I really like Kay. But c'mon, that is too light. I wish, but they would want way more than that. German is a guy who is worth > 3 WAR a season. Four more seasons. He might even have a no-trade clause. The Jays will HAVE to throw in SWR or Manoah. I love both prospects, but they are prospects. I guess what I am saying is this; he has a 4-year window that runs perfectly with our kids. We may have to burn some of our future for the now. I know we all sting from the Dickey trade, but that is just a risk teams have to make sometimes. The best trades are those that leave both teams hurting a little.
  24. What sort of monster deal would it take to trade for German Marquez? He would absolutely be a perfect trade target. The Rockies are horrible and rebuilding, or need to, and Marquez could be ours until 2025. He pitches way better away from Colorado, which also bodes well. Assuming Pearson is damn near untouchable, would it be SWR, Manoah, and Groshans? Is that even enough?
